Hidden unit: Han Cavalry Crossbowman
Classic-Burger replied to stevenlau's topic in Gameplay Discussion
I don't see why it can't be done, even the assimilation process could train mercenaries after capture a building. -
Nice concept.

The problem is that the formations are useless without the bonuses that have not been implemented. -

Ideally, units should be able to hold out for a long time so they can be better controlled. In other words, better handling. In terms of combat I want slow pacing. And this applies to all soldiers. Retreat is important. Otherwise the game becomes a mess about spamming units. It becomes a cycle of dying and training and very little maneuverability. Look at melee combat in other strategy games. -
Slingers can.But cavalry easily kills slings...Unless stopped by infantry melee like spearman.

It sounds like there will be more years before that. -
This is a good idea.It is very demoralizing to lose a temple.

Cargo crew and rowers should not be the same thing. For example, infantry should count as rowers. Women, animals, and high-ranking units should not.

If that is a good question, we need to think carefully about how it is implemented. It's not going to be perfect at first, I guess implementing and finding exploits. What occurs to me is that a good assimilation needs to have peace after the conquest or obtaining. Assimilation should not happen if the territory is not connected. Therefore assimilation occurs over time, time is valuable. But it can be stopped if someone tries to recapture or capture it, the question will be if a third party who is not the original owner or the conqueror tries to capture it, what would happen? The situation is as follows, A has a tower, B captures it and begins to assimilate it after disconnecting it from player A's territory. But C arrives and tries to capture and is not an ally of A, it belongs to C team a third party. This may have happened during the wars of the Diadochi. The wars of Antigonus, Seleukus and the Ptolemy. You have to think it over carefully.

There was no need for innovation as there were no Thalassocracies to conquer.

They should gain more speed due to size and crew of rowers. Special ramming ships Which is known as melee ships.

It would be interesting if the heroes in this game leveled up like some sort of pseudo RPG.

How much cavalry do you need to destroy the other civs?(Even with spearmen).
-
It lacks synergy between troops, bonuses and combos.

Kushites have variety but they are not good at anything, They should have some combo with their archers.

What's so special about Han? I mean to be rush civ?

The ideal thing would be to have several levels of siege machines, mainly the ram style ones. I've seen some guys carrying a log in some mods.

As I understand it from other games, you capture first and then as you assimilate you have all the gameplay actions from the building. But you can use it to a certain extent. It's like a capture but unfinished, imperfect.

Are you agree or you are against? I didn't understand. It makes sense that a rush to capture doesn't work in 1P, at least it would be very boring to lose CC in the first few minutes.
