  1. Hey, y'all WFGers! So lately I've been thinking about the concept of leadership. One HUGE component of that, I've come to understand, are the simply awesome speeches given that seem to speak right to one's soul ('Twas said that Hitler played this card with exceptional expertise). Most of my favorite speeches probably come from Warhammer 40k or some other work of fiction, such as: "My people... Sons and daughters of Helghan. This much I vow. The history of these days will be written in blood. By crushing the armies of our enemy, by seizing the weapons they thought to turn against us, we were fighting for our very existence. But if there are those who would deny us peace; refuse us our rightful place in the universe, then we will unleash such terrible vengeance that generations yet unborn will cry out in anguish![...]The enemy may shatter our bodies, but they cannot break our spirit. Even now they advance on our home world, to seize by force what they cannot claim by right. They cannot imagine what awaits them. WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter; never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy; fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities... they will know, Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Visari, Killzone 2 So what are YOUR favorite, rousing speeches that make you want to drop everything you're doing in life and take up arms against an enemy?
  2. You guys work magic. Seriously. I haven't been able to get this working on my Mac due to inexperience + time, so it's way awesome to see this going on!
  3. WOW. Are you sure you don't want a box of tissues, AuroN2? Obviously yes, because your rocky past surrounding AOM is more than you can bear. A small group of people have spent massive amounts of their time--and therefore money--on developing this game. Show some respect.
  4. Haha! Bro, you know way more than I do at this. The only player I know is Zidan. And that's only because of the epic move he pulled on that Italian player. Purly nationalism that motivates me. How 'bout you? In your opinion, who will win?
  5. @Matt: I know another dude that's going into audio engineering. I've always wondered--is there a lot of money in that? Congrats on the wedding! That totally rocks! Exactly. I'm thinking about going for a BA in International Business, but I'm not so sure if that's the best of ideas. Ummm... personally, I'd do UP. But that's just 'cause of the weather + sea. =/ Dude. How do you like economics? I took Macro-Econ last quarter and pretty much vowed that I'd never take it again (until I saw I did pretty well in the class).
  6. Okay, so I just started watching the World Cup in '06 with some family from France. I totally loved it! So, in light of that, I'm gonna have to cheer the French team on!
  7. Currently, Koper, Slovenia has caught my eye. Beautiful country--Alps in the north, the Adriatic to the south.
  8. Haha... Oyvind, I love your posts, bro! =D Currently, I just finished up my midterms. Since I'm nearly done at my comm. college, I'm trying to transfer to a place around Seattle called UW. And when I'm there, hopefully I'll be enrolled in a USMC ROTC programme. So that's my plan for the next year.
  9. Wow! I had no idea that Erik was the project leader. Totally awesome! =D
  10. Exactly. And never start out in Europe--no one ever survives when starting out in Europe. I believe Australia is the best place to begin world domination.
  11. Happy belated birthday, Michael! Was it awesome?
  12. I abhorred the pop cap in AoM. Not being able to field as many men as I had in AoE II was just . . . not right. I seriously don't mind having an extraordinarii taking up 2-3 population--it makes you build houses and whatnot; forces you to expand your empire's boundaries--but the cap was horrible. My two . . . no, three, cents.
  13. NICE!!! Totally one of my favorite screens, Michael! Good job! Kinda feel sorry for the Greeks, though.
  14. Hmmm . . . this is really a mod problem, and should stay that way unless the staff thinks it's a good idea to let the rest of the members should know. The rest of you, watch in awe as mod-to-member and mod-to-mod activity spikes to over 550%.
  15. Geeze, it looks like we'll be stuck on 99% for the next three years. But seriously, time calculating the percentage is time away from debugging a program and whatnot. Unless, of course, we could somehow bribe Bobby to cough up with some rough calculation, but I believe a rough calculation is all you all will get.
  16. I'm not sure I grasp your meaning of "damage," Alex. The types of damage between buildings from AoM and AoEIII are much different, i.e. in AoM, to my knowledge, buildings just go up in flame and crumble; in AoEIII, buildings actually fall apart as damage is inflicted upon them. Of the two, I think the latter would be a bit far-fetched, seeing how that just takes a ton of work to develop. I think it'd be better for morale if you expected the former, and if WFG announces that their buildings have the same effect--like in AoEIII--you can get really excited and morale doesn't suffer.
  17. Welcome to the boards, Trevor! I'm Joe, WFG's Community Something-rather. Hope you enjoy your stay! Nice, Bob, keep it up.
  18. Actually, I've been looking forward to a naval battle for quite some time, now. Or, if that's something more along the lines of screenshots, just a showcase of different ships in various formations/positions/angles. By the way, when are we going to get a Roman showcase?
  19. Happy belated birthday, Josh!!! Sounds like you had an awesome one! Say, you didn't happen to get any Michael Curtis Ford books, did you?
