  1. About the scenario / 'random map' interface. It wouldnt be bad to have an 'advanced options' button. F.e. If you want to give a computer opponent a different AI file, to make up for different and challenging playstyles. These can be made by people, like in AOE 2.
  2. Looking good. Will there be little animations ( are they planned in the future I mean) ? F.e. Smoke coming out of the house = they should have opening in the thatched roof.
  3. About the fog of war: the edges are quite rough. Should be a more smooth curve.
  4. No left clicking for information on items in the fog of war please.
  5. Im almost certain no Roman set foot in the Serengeti, ever . But the biome can be used for middle eastern dryland, if we get rid of the tourist attraction wildlife.
  6. Not to be negative, but I dont get it. Serengeti, giraffes, ... Isnt this game supposed to portray lanscapes around the mediterranean? Not that the map is not good on the contrary
  7. Gorgeous map. One thing: the cypresses 'stand out' in comparison with the other trees. Too low polygon count or the model? Can't put my finger on.
  8. I guess manually deleting works for the moment, as long as they dont spam continuously. Otherwise: have you got forum moderators? Because with every version released, more people will swarm this place
  9. The purple is much better now ! Nice. Ive looked for some hoplite images on the website, and found some good ones. Its an image of only 1 guy, but if you "blend" 5 of them together, or behind eachother, i think that will work out fine. Then add the logos on the shields Here is the link: http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad/album_page.php?pic_id=8410 OR http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad/album_page.php?pic_id=8862 I feel guilty for sending you this stuff, because i'd love to be able to do it myself, but I can't. Do with it what you want, of course I know it is easy to give comments without doing a thing, but i only think about improvement. Don't kill me
  10. It shouldn't just be an excuse to attach random maps to a 'game mode'. We could make it more like Medieval 2: Kingdoms, where we focus on a few civs and in a certain time zone / a part of the map. F.e , Carthage vs. Rome Map: western meditteranean: Civs: Carthaginians, Romans 'Minor civs' Celts & Iberians (more passive).
  11. I was thinking about pureon's map. Placing the six civ's on a sort of european map ( centered around the mediterranean sea ), divided in provinces. Every province is 1 scenario. A bit like the Battle for Middle earth mode. The twist is that it could begin in a certain time ( 500 BC.) and by scripts we could write the AI of the civ's according to historical accounts.
  12. I beg the developers to leave out achievements. What's next then? DLC? Age of empires series didnt need achievements to be interesting and fun, a conquer the world ( check pureon 's map ) mode gives skirmish scenarios that little extra, maybe thats a good idea.

    Fish

Just a thought: Making many kinds of fish would really be an hommage to AOE series. Remember Tuna , shorefish, marlin, etc
  14. Very nice work Pureon ! The only thing i wonder about is the location of Alesia. Need to look it up tough.

    Fish

I guess he means: different kind of animals have been added to the game but no fish so far...
  16. The biggest problem is ONE map for a timezone of roughly 500 years. Meaning: The name of cities changed continously, depending on the '''civ''' in control. Maybe its best to stick with the most known name ( mostly latin I guess ). Or maybe you can make a second map with only the capitals of the six civs, to make it more clear ( although this might prove difficult for the celtic and iberian cultures)...
  17. Some ideas: http://hoplitesolutions.net/images/hoplite.jpg Cut out the 3 soldiers at the left: http://info.nodo50.org/IMG/jpg/Hoplites.jpg
  18. There should be at least one cheat, celebrating the Age of Empires series. I'd vote for Wololo.
  19. http://www.facebook.com/play0ad?v=app_7146470109 Very nice but maybe there is room for improvement ( Personal opinion, only meant to provide constructive feedback to the 0 AD team). 1. The use of colours to indicate the six playable races could be more diverse, now it is very difficult to see where the lines go to and where the celtic zone passes onto the iberian zone. 2. Idea for the logo's ( windows, linux, max etc.) . Use an image of hoplites ( Maybe in a phalanx formation: a common strategy in most civs in that era ) and put one logo / per shield. Otherwise: great work and visually very attractive.
  20. Tyre ==> Tyrus Carthage ==> Carthago Pergamum = Latin I Dont know whether Alesia was the most relevant ( biggest?) oppidum/city in modern France. I'll dig into it later.
  21. For African cities you can add Leptis Magna and cyrene
  22. Personally I would use the latin / Greek names of a few cities f.e. : 1. Marseille ==> Massilia 2. Rome ==> Roma 3. La coruna ==> A coruna // Brigantium (after Roman conquest) Other tweaks: Lugdunum = Lyon ===> Should be placed a little more to the southeast from current position. Smyrna can be replaced by Pergamum, which was more relevant, especially in the Roman Era. Maybe also add Pontus as city ? Makes it more historically relevant IMO Great work, the map looks stunning !!!
  23. The choice of cities could be more historically correct/relevant. La coruna? Maybe chose 'Numantia' Marseille can also be added Lugdunum ( Lyon) instead of Cenabum? As this game spans from 500 BC. to approximately 1 AD (?) , was Augusta Treverorum already of significant importance/size AND was it already roman?
