  1. Heres another site with a ton of random stuff: http://ebbs.english.vt.edu/hel/hel.html I really like Middle English, try reading the Canterbury Tales (a staple in American highschools )
  2. yeah I know he's not _in_ college right now, but I'm sure he's been _near_ it, hence the question "what's it like there?" The only college I've been to so far outside Cleveland is Air Force Academy, and they had guards with M-16's at the gates as for last samauri's list: if you were smart in high school it doesnt matter at all in college -I can see that trouble with a lot of kids in my class, I'll take the warning to myself too though . you will miss home more than you think, so dont go to far away. -lol can't wait to get out of this suburb so distant from anything that I have cornfields basically across my street if at all possible dont bring a TV with you, i know it sounds crazy but my TV is killing me. -almost never watch TV anyways buy a vehicle with good gas mileage to go back home with, my truck gets 13 mpg and i live 230 miles from my college. that trasnlates to around 60-70 dollars round trip. -love my buick! I think it gets about 20
  3. I've heard that Mel based this movie on the Bible very closely (I'm not gonna bring up any debate here ) I've also heard that the Passion is an endless, bloody torture that shows almost none of the love that Jesus normally stand for. I haven't actually seen it though, so maybe comments from those who have? I have no interest in seeing this movie though, here's a decent review.
  4. ah free college, I should move to Europe It would cost me Hey chichi how do you like USC? That was another one that I was thinking about, but I don't know if Los Angeles is the right city for good'ol midwestern guy like me I heard SoCal is getting smog from China, as if they didn't already have enough *curufinwe I think the word your looking for is 'electability'
  5. yup black op, I think 'colleges' are generally smaller, and 'universities' are the big ones that offer many different programs. There are sooo many colleges in the US its hard to chose... and only 1 that I'm looking at is in-state (The Ohio State University) but lucky me I get $20 grand off a year at Syracuse (if I go there) because of the tuition exchange program
  6. yay I get to take all the SAT's and ACT's and SAT II's... fun stuff for Americans! As for which college I want to go to, I only have a list of about 10, but definitely something in engineering (aeronautical most likely). I'm visiting Georgia Tech next week though, long drive
  7. I love quizno's, but those commercials are just plain disturbing! j/k they are pretty random, and I always love randomness
  8. Remember to keep them appropriate by any forum rules Here's some more I made a while back: Capitals Outburst
  9. I don't know if this has been done here before, but try this for fun! Make you own Fanta Shokata clip and post the link here. Here's where you can start: Fanta Shokata My clip: Deodorent
  10. from a friend of mine who's amish and has red hair, with my initials tagged on the front Actually online I play as re-horackhty, who I found to be an Egyptian intestine god (I think). Before that I was Le Pisseur, 'The bed-wetter'. agg my enter key isn't working.....
  11. hmm... I need at least one boy, because I am the last male in my family with the ability to pass on the name! You'd think in a country of 300 million there'd be another, but not when you grandparents immigrated
  12. I think a lot of times people _think_ something bad will happen on the 13th, or a full moon, and then they get all 'I told you so' when it does. The only superstition I believe is the one where you don't walk under a ladder, because I don't want a ladder falling on my head
  13. no, but I would advise on not using them (have one for necessity of course) I have made a few purchases with my parents' cards, and I got to say, it's way too easy. After buying a few gallons of paint at $50, I didn't even know it. With cash, its really obvious just how much you spend. Its not a coincidence that many, many Americans have credit card debt. to Amish
  14. Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to loot, plunder, spend my savings, etc! I pity those who actually get caught up in this stuff. Its a waste of time, money, emotional commitment.
  15. lucky, none of the girls in my class are watch-worthy there are always interesting characters at x-country and track meets, but 90% of the time I'm one of them *remembers making an animal cracker shrine and singing 'old mcdonald had a farm' at a meet*
  16. yeah most 'tion' words are the same in french (pronounced 'shee - on' instead of 'shun' of course) deus ex machina - a third party comes in and saves the day (i think) supererogatory - going beyond necessity uxorious - get bossed around by the wife defenestrate - throw out the window tergiversation - being ambiguous *sign up for dictionary.com's word-of-the-day email for lots of cool words.
  17. the power to seduce young women. really old bear skeleton booger perfect gifts!
  18. so a guy walks into the office of a psychiatrist completely dressed in saran wrap ... and the doctor says, "I can clearly see your nuts!"
  19. Confucius says If you want pretty nurse, you got to be patient. Confucius says man who run behind car get exhausted Confucius says man who run in front of car get tired Confucius says Man who tell one too many light bulb jokes soon burn out!
  20. 1993 Buick Park Avenue!! Complete with leather seats, fake leather roof, cool hood ornament, little buick shields everywhere... lol its a great grandma car. Fit about 15 people in there once
  21. Why don't you write about the Chilean elections which the CIA interveaned (60's ?) where Allende, a socialist, was elected, and the US supported a coup, and the later military gov't led by Augusto Pinochet, despite his numerous atrocities. Yet another chapter of good 'ol American international policy during the Cold War Then again, that doesn't really tie in religion or art. Oh well do it anyways!
  22. 4.6 GPA, but thats with IB weighted grades, so really a 3.8 total... a's exept a b in english <_<
  23. here is how my philosophy book scores the 1996 Atlanta Olympics: scored normally: edited for population differences: *score divided by population and multiplied by 10^8So, I'm rooting for Tonga and the Bahamas, the USA did not do so well after all! Too bad for India, though, 1 billion people and only 1 bronze metal...
  24. anyone else here have IB (international baccalaureate- think I spelled it right)? Its alright, better than the normal classes for juniors & seniors, and all my grades are weighted even though the classes aren't really much harder I don't think the problem with schools in america is the system itself (although it does contribute), as much as it is the attitude. bah, when adam graduates I don't think there will be anyone to have a intelligent discussion with in school... As for the thing I hate most, must be the upstairs lockers! every single year, the juniors and seniors get downstairs lockers, frosh and soph ones upstairs, UNTIL THIS YEAR! they put the freshmen ones downstairs, while making me suffer walking upstairs (which is hard during x country) everyday. j/k, I'm a survivor...
  25. Felt compelled, by unknown forces in nature, to introduce myself I live 'round the corner from the project leader, ADAM, and he told me to stop by the forum (mainly the hall of intellectuals) and participate. I also have my own nafarious purposes, mainly learning about game development and such. so, bonjour, bien fait, au revior...
