  1. Do not forget our lovable, quotable president I'm suprised that wasn't the theme of the RNC: "We stand for.... THINGS!"
  2. Last Jack Handy quote (promise): "Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what is I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny. " Unfortunately, there aren't too many sites with lists of all his quotes because of copyright issues
  3. Plus, we'd all be Alphas anways, so why worry? "It takes a big man to cry, but a bigger man to laugh at that man" -Jack Handy
  4. Cool, I'm a WFG drunk now!! *Stumbles around the room, shaking fist in a quasi-drunken rage*
  5. Which book by him, 1999 or 2000 edition? OhioLink search... Unfortunately those books aren't at my local university, so I can only check them out for two weeks (I get a whole year checkout at JCU). Thanks for the tips, I can use more sources. As for it being finished, I'll try and get my rough draft done by September. It's due in January, and I don't want to pull off an AK_thug amish and frantically type the whole thing winter break.
  6. Thanks, us naïve french 5 students thought 'fous' had something to do with the 'mad/crazy' definition... that's why we didn't understand it at first We're reviewing furniture right now, always fun to say "Ou est la douche?" Je suis dans la douche! Je me douche maintenant!
  7. I believe it's "red sky at night, sailor's delight..." but that's fine. I like, "I'd rather be rich than stupid" And whenever the girls xc team calls us immature (which is quite often), I say one of two things, "You're only young as you feel!" or "You're only young once, but you can act immature forever"
  8. Here are some pics from our last meet... http://img84.exs.cx/img84/7346/xcbrecksville1small.jpg http://img84.exs.cx/img84/1326/xcbrecksville3small.jpg We got 2nd place in the DI (bigger school) race, and are currently ranked 10th in the state, although the only state rankings that matter are the results! Swimming is probably the hardest sport that I know of, it's also good cross training for anything else (even football)
  9. On a slightly off-topic note, someone here told me "I don't care" was "Je m'en fou" en français, but when I said that in class the teacher said it wasn't very polite She said "Je m'en fiche" was a better alternative.
  10. How far are you along with your research? I think I was lucky by picking a mathematical thesis... I do not need to preform my own experiments
  11. Bonjour evilHurdle (if thats what you want to be called here )! Well EH is the only Chinese-German-Canadian Hurdler/biologist I know, should provide a unique viewpoint on some issues...
  12. shoot... I thought it was Utah... I go to a smaller school, so I'm third on my team even though I'm running the same time you are I have a friend that lives in Naperville, and tried to try out for golf, but there were something like 100 people also trying out. Over here, every athlete is a precious commodity! It's also quite hilly, which makes for good cross country.
  13. gj what place did you get at the meet? All we run now are invitationals with 10 - 40 teams. I ran a little slower than I would like last sat., but at least I improved from last week. Plus, our coach makes sure we peak at the right time, and states is still a month away. I bet if you came down to my altitude you'd run much faster. When I was in Colorado I was sucking air pretty bad (at least at first).
  14. Whoo-ho we made the PD (Plain Dealer)! Wildcats, Bobcats dominate the field Well, we're just a footnote at the bottom of the article, but its cool whenever your team goes 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 16th, and 30th in an XC invitational And we got 4th at the state meet last year, because one team was disqualified from the meet (they went to court over it too, good fun). Heh I'm pretty into XC this year :drug:
  15. One thing I've noticed typing responses and such is that when I click on a smilie or a 'code button' (like quote or bold) the curser moves to the bottom of my post and my scroll bar messes up. This is a little annoying when I go back to add something in the middle of a message. Now I don't really care that much about this, but I was just wondering if it was something that is a bug or maybe it's just my browser, Mozilla 1.7 Thanks!
  16. aww I guess I'm the only one that likes the old one better
  17. 1- IB English A1 High-Level 2- IB Bio HL 3- IB French B1 Standard-Level 4- Lunch (play cribbage with friends) 5- IB North/South American History HL 6- Study Hall (play NBA Jam TE on SNES) 7- IB Math II SL 8- more study hall, more NBA Jam
  18. You see right through my Multi-Litteral cipher It takes a 5 letter keyword, so I obviously picked Jonas, To crack it just set up a 5X5 grid: and take the row letter, then column letter for each plaintext character. So, A is JJ. Pretty simple, but I don't think I'm putting it in my paper now since it strays a bit too far off my thesis of mathematical methods used (to decipher it you use a brute force attack, there are not that many combinations of 5 unique letters)
  19. Been going since August 25 Although when I went down south, the kids where going to school a few weeks earlier (and they got off the school bus at places like McDonalds and the gas station in Georgia, a bit weird)
  20. I like running because it's easy to get started, you can do it by yourself, and it's fun to improve your time I also just got elected captain, but that isn't really much of a surprise since I am the only senior on the team. I'll try postinn some pictures of my next meet on Sat., my parents weren't at this one because my sister had a horse show the same day
  21. Fall sports had a wet start here in Cleveland. Today we had a cross country race (5k), I ran an 18:05 to get 8th place (a few less than 100 total I'm guessing) and finished behind two team-mates who finished 3rd and 7th. Overall my team placed 2nd, which is pretty good because there were quite a few Division I schools there, and we're D II. The course was pretty wet and muddy after an hour or so of rain, but it cleared up right before my race It looks like we should have a good team this year, since we always peak at the right time, in the postseason. I hope to get my time under 16:50 by the end of the season, get all-Ohio, and team place in top three. So anyone else participating in fall sports this year? Share your conquests, goals, etc
  22. Land is cheap here, and pretty much all the cities around here have increased in size by 5-12% since the last census. Plus there are tons of interstates here for some reason, traffic is no problem at all. Much better than Chicago or Atlanta.
  23. near Cleveland, Ohio We get our fair share of lake-effect snow Other than that I guess the weather's pretty similar to Chicago, exept one day later.
  24. Try this website: http://www.glencoe.com/sec/worldlanguages/...mps/index.html# That was my French 4 book, the chapter quizes you can take and score, but it only refers you to the page # of incorrect answers. Example: (Quatrième étape) 1. à The book focuses on very specific grammer rules/exceptions
