  1. We didn't win but we got a lot of attention. We're also one of the nominees in the voter's choice awards coming up this Saturday (Feb. 28th), so be sure to watch the video and support ⊕ A.D.!
  2. Hate to burst that bubble, but 1.0 won't be out by next January, even if the beta release was out right now. We plan to spend some time weeding out as many bugs as possible before making that jump.
  3. I had noticed this. I mentioned it to Michael but I don't think he noticed it.
  4. Well, as long as we're still posting in this thread, I'll update to say that PDS is no longer devloping the mytholgy mod (considering we were only in the planning phases), but has begun development on Rise of the East, a mod featuring 3 new factions from the East: China, Japan and India. If you're interested in helping out, don't hesistate to PM or email me.
  5. Voice recognition would definitely be the next innovative shaker of the gaming world. It's possible but it would be incredibly tedious to implement.
  6. Thanks to everyone for your continued support. Let's hope for the best!
  7. Wow, not that many Mac users.. still more than Linux though. OS: Mac OS X 10.5.6 Processor: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Do Memory: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM Graphics: ATY Radeon X1600 I'm hoping to get this sucker repaired and or upgraded. Unfortunately, Apple insists on doing complete repairs; nothing partial. That means I'd be having to pay about $1200. Yeah, maybe not. I'd rather save up and get the latest and greatest Mac of 2010/11.
  8. Maybe you should just ask all of your questions in one topic. Seems like you've got quite a few.
  9. By all means, we encourage you to make a mod for 0 A.D. that demonstrates everything that you wish you had in AoM. Perhaps some sort of Mythology Mod to our current factions. Here's an outline of a projected 'Mythology Mod' that I originally intended to be my first 0 A.D. release. I've got other plans now though.. Units There it is, 5 myth units per civilization. You'll have to do some research for the Carthaginians and Iberians, unfortunately.
  10. Yes. All of the AoM entities are proprietary to the Microsoft Corporation, and this would be very much illegal. Not even the artists responsible for the assets in the game have the legal right to release that art to you.
  11. I see you point, how it could be made to be simple, but I have to agree with Bobby on this one. Like I said, it would be a cool twist in a scenario situation, but I don't want to have to worry about losing half of my nation to a revolution.
  12. That might be cool for a single-player campaign twist. Maybe they weren't happy with the way that you were ruthlessly obtaining new land and collectively decided to disband from your nation and become an opponent.
  13. Half of the fun behind recorded games is being able to watch the enemy's strategy and learn from your mistakes. In that case, you couldn't watch if you kept on losing!
  14. Thank you, sir. Invite your friends.
  15. Yesterday we were pretty high up statistically, but we definitely need more registered votes. The more votes we can reel in the better, so by all means, have your friends vote. Just remember, guest votes only count in the instance of a tie, so have as many of them register as you can.
  16. Hopefully that is the case. Thanks for taking the time to register though.
  17. That was a fairly cheap strategy that frequented AoM's online play, especially with the Norse, since soldiers could build the barracks to spawn the units.
  18. Speaking of the ModDB profile, I recently discovered that guest votes for the 2008 Mod of the Year awards only count in the case of a tie.. if you voted as a guest and wouldn't mind registering for ModDB (which also means you'll be able to upload content in the future, as well as receive updates from the 0 A.D. ModDB page), we would really appreciate your help.
  19. There's also plenty of updated content here, much of which isn't released on the homepage.
  20. The 2008 Mod of the Year Awards, hosted by ModDB.com, is an event commemorating the most popular projects, released and unreleased, within the modding and indie gaming scene. Developers have poured their blood, sweat and tears into creating new gameplay experiences that truly "change the game". Now its time for the gamers to voice their opinions and select their top picks of the year. From Jan 2nd to Feb 28th, the MOTY will present to you the cream of the crop for 2008 as voted by the public. The top mods and games will win the honors of being placed alongside other projects that have gone on to become commercial successes and cement their place in ModDB's hall of fame. And to the winner goes the spoils; ModDB has teamed up with a whole lineup of sponsors that have provided prizes ranging from software to servers to commercial engines. Everything to help budding developers excel at their craft. You can read about the contest information on the 2008 Mod of the Year Awards event page on ModDB.com. Since 0 A.D. is a participating upcoming indie game, we invite you, the 0 A.D. fan, to help us reach our goal by voting for us. The voting process is very simple: first, you must register an account with ModDB (unregistered votes only count in case of a tie), visit the page of the indie game or mod that you would like to recognize, scroll down to the voting box (it features a large image of the 2008 MotY Trophy, so it's fairly difficult to miss), and click the large 'VOTE FOR GAME' button, as demonstrated below. To nominate 0 A.D. as your choice for Upcoming Indie Game of the Year, visit our 0 A.D. game profile page on ModDB and click the 'VOTE FOR GAME' button, as demonstrated above.
  21. Some stations in California have dropped to $2.39. $1.89?? That's amazing!
  22. When Atlas is deemed to be at a stable scenario editing stage, we will hand-select scenario designers to join to aid in the creation of the campaign. We won't be choosing that many of you, since most of us on the team already are capable of scenario design.
  23. USD$2.89 in Southern California. I'm glad it's finally dropped significantly.
