How about NĂșmenorean-sized life?
I'm comfortable with death as I think it's just as just as important and natural as life, but I think our years are too short. Imagine the prospects of TLA if we could all spend 3 times as much of our lives on it
-
I believe that'd be his "twelfty-second" birthday

Yes, it's good to see fan artwork here

I'm sure there were female orcs. There were fertile fields in Mordor, and that's also a fact that some take as being unlike an Evil force or something.
And Saruman indeed marched Dunlendings to Helm's deep

I need to find some time to start reading them :/ I'm quite busy right now.

*raises hand*
I'd love to read it! When you finish you might want to consider having it put up on our literature section (after we open it of course)
That goes for any aspiring prose or poetic writers out there. Or linguists, or songwriters....

After the scream he gave when Ungoliant wanted to take the Silmarilli? I think that's when he was past all hope of redemption.
-
P.S. You know, the title of this topic could be REALLY offensive to some people if taken out of context...Just a passing thought...
lol no pictures allowed!
Certainly when they saw them the orcs would have fled in terror,I'm not sure the dead actually encountered any orcs. I was always under the impression tha the dead men of dunharrow came to pelargir, slew many corsairs of umbar and haradric raiders, took the ships, and then their oath was fufilled.

I think it's supposed to be satirical, satiring such a totalitarian and rampantly industrialized government. Tolkien denied any political discussion in his works but you know it just happens when you write what you know about and what you're passionate about
I've never seen any such list of the rules :/

Well some things are still being used, some things are not. I can't tell exactly what is what because many things differ actually within the contents of the document itself. So just be wary with what you read.
-
Well as of now trap-like buildings are not part of the game. I don't really recall an instance of their use in Tolkien's works.
-
Well the past is actually here:
http://tla.wildfiregames.com/~documents
BUT REMEMBER!
This is the PAST, so don't believe everything you read! Much has been updated and is elsewhere now

Forces of Morgoth will be great
But I had to go for Noldor since I know they will be able to hold their own against Morgoth...
But dwarves are really neat in the game too :/
And Sindar can build some buildings underground and blend their cities into the trees...
and the edain will have a big advantage with fishing ships and what not...
Very hard to decide I love them all, they are all kind of my children lol

Well being strong or great doesn't imply being a warrior. I take it to mean strong of spirit, will, powerful in demeanor and great in character. Galadriel was a strong women, and a powerful leader, no doubt she would be brave if she had to defend her people, but I don't necessarily take those comments in UT and S to mean she was a warrior. Sure she can hold her own against some orcs, but not like Fingon or Fingolfin could. Believe me- you'll be able to see how powerful Galadriel is in TLA when we release the leaders info
#2: you mentioned that Leaders would have a "horn of valor". Shouldn't we at least pay a little tribute to Lord of the Rings' linguistically British heritage, and say, as Tolkien himself would have, "Horn of ValourWell funny you should mention that - when we originally drafted the leader abilities for the first few civs we used the british spelling, that is "valour". It's still in the old documents like that. But as an american I guess I find myself changing the spelling.
But that's a good idea, to use the anglicized spellings.

*public service announcement*
This poll has the outdated civ structure in it.
But the civs you wrote about are pretty much intact

I have a Greek bible and a Greek dictionary
Well I think mreiland mentioned this, but there is a difference between knowing words in a language and actually understanding the language. Such ancient languages are full of nuances and connotations that take scholars a lifetime to begin to understand.
"In Him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 which is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory." - Ephesians 1:13,14Well I asked for a fact. A majority of people in this world wouldn't believe that information to be factual. Myself included. I define factual to be proven by experience, as that is about as realistically factual we can get with the human mind. So can you prove this with your own personal experience of going to heaven?

Well the way TLA approaches the fall of gondolin in LT2 and S is that we take everything Tolkien wrote in LT2 for face value, because it's better than making things up or assuming wrongfully, and then whatever he describes in S we give supremacy. So anything he changed for S becomes canon. So the composite we use is basically S with everything else from LT2 in it.
I actually want to turn this full tale into verse, or at least the charge of the house of the hammer of wrath, with the hopes of then translating it to sindarin and making a tengwar illuminated manuscript some day

I think for the next "improvement" on this model you need to put a great deal of detail into it.
Some of my suggestions:
Crenellations in the walls
Shingles on the Roof
Carvings
More "Sinister" architectural details.
Windows, arrow loops, etc.
Portcullis in the gate, or large metal doors rather.
I think you should add the mountains o Mordor, Ephel DĂșath and Ered Lithui
I think it lacks a sense of grand scale, so any tiny details you can add to it would make the gates seem bigger. Also the mountains of mordor would help.

Well according to LT2 the Fall of Gondolin, Tuor I think slays a total of five, and Ecthelion 4 (3 unnamed plus Gothmog).
Then Glorfindel slays one, and the folk of Rog slay many.
So let's assume that the folk of rog slew one and that makes at least 11, but probably many many more.
Well counting the balrog of moria, that's 12 for sure
