  1. New Updates on his mod:

    http://www.vanacreative.com/bome/media.html

He just finished an Edoras Map, which is quite accurate to the books, complete with correct numbers of barrows in correct places crowned with Simbelmynë [smile.gif] He's got the fords of Snowbourne, several farms, his original Rohan tall grass, and the Golden Hall!

There is a mapshot and several supplementary screenshots to boot.

Also of note are the unit updates in the units section.

He's currently working on a balrog, olog, and wyrm of morgoth [wink.gif]

  2. Well I think as a Tutorial campaign that's a wonderful idea, both Black Op and BolideLich.

Cuiviénen+ Tarry on the shores of Belegaer (defend your host, wait for valar kind of a little intro to get you into TLA)

Build Tirion (teaches city aspects and economy aspects)

Flight of the Noldoli/Kinslaying/Fëanor (teaches military aspects)

We could build from something like this.

    Great ideas.

  4. I think having more pride would be to stick it out and fight. Sauron did so, but in an extremely subversive manner. In fact, no one knew he was really fighting for power until it was too late - including you!

Sauron was Morgoth's Lieutenant! The balrog of moria was merely another soldier.

  5. Do you mean what do these represent, or would you like a list of these characters?

They represent sounds that are prevalent in Tolkien's languages.

NGW for instance, you can find in the name "Ingwë". (Or Tengwa) You'd write this with an I-rune, than an NGW-rune, then an E-rune. But these sounds are also prevalent in the tengwar. They represent specific elvish phonetics. Each tengwa represents a different sound in Sindarin, Quenya, and Westron, for example.

  6. Yes they are! What about orcs in the return of the king putting stakes in the road to prevent the Rohirrim crossing? Or filling trenches with fire? Or Saruman and his hoses of liquid fire in orthanc?

Well not in the sense of traps. Tolkien uses them as setting, not action. He uses them to paint a picture of the battle, not to delineate what actually happened. Therefore they will be scenery items in TLA.

  7. I'm not really sure how time will factor into TLA.

Whatever it's not going to be realistic - we are planning day/night changes, whether that makes it into the game or not. And because of that, it's absurd to have day/night in let's say a scenario that spans 1000 years

So maybe the frequency of day changes can be set by the map designer and the player before he plays a random map?
