  1. The 4-point window comes from a lot of reference images.
  2. Left one is almost perfect. Try mapping that one! Though, perhaps a lower roof would be best?
  3. I like the new tooltip cost icons. I was wondering if we should add "build time/train time/research time" as one of the cost items, with something like this for the small icon. http://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/ps/trunk/binaries/data/mods/public/art/textures/ui/session/icons/resources/time_small.png
  4. I think it's perfectly fine to take design cues from other barracks. I really like how it looks now, though it may be too tall. Perhaps scale down the roof a bit?
  5. What does everyone think? I don't want to just add them without some input first.
  6. I kinda like the middle one, but would need more renders to be sure.
  7. Macedonians Looking at the Macedonians, there are currently too many units to fit them all into the Fortress: 3 heroes, 2 champions, and 4 siege engines. Given the Macedonians' penchant for siege weaponry, I think it would be cool to give them a Siege Workshop not unlike the Siege Workshop from Age of Kings. This would move the siege weapons from the fortress, so heroes and champions can be built there, while giving extra emphasis to their siegeing capabilities. This is similar to how the Persians have a Cavalry Stables, which emphasizes their superiority in cavalry. Celts I was thinking the "Celtic" and Iberian factions could get an armoury/blacksmith structure to emphasize their penchant for metal working (Celts were the first to use iron weaponry and invented chain mail). Most of their military upgrades would then take place here, while their barracks would be purely for training (and some minor training upgrades). Now, the current Iberian Barracks looks like it could be a good Blacksmith and then we can come up with a new barracks design. Perhaps the same could be said for the Celtic factions, but I'm not positive on that.
  8. Also, it seems like the deeper the water, the more lag I get with "Use actual depth"? Perhaps there should be a depth at which is stops rendering based on water 'murkiness'?
  9. And parallax, which actually gives the illusion of a million more polies.
  10. I think it would be great if we could bang our heads together one more time and try to get the game's existing rig to work with this new model, so we can at least salvage all the existing animations (some of the existing animations aren't very good, but some are very high quality). If the last-ditch effort doesn't work, then a new rig is in order!
  11. I think most 'Wonders' would have massive amounts of health as a matter of course.
  12. Yep, the Ashoka pillars should be round and their own separate "structure" built or placed by the Ashoka hero unit. I think a variety of designs (different animals) would be cool, with the important chakra over the top. I would love it if Eggbird or someone can make nice high-quality normal maps for them too to help give them a nice high-poly look as seen in his video. This is absolutely awesome, LordGood. I think what will really sell this model is the texture (and AO and normal maps). I would suggest using the same "brick wall" texture that the Civ Centre uses, but just in a lighter shade.
  13. The upper pectoral/shoulder area needs to be pulled inward a bit. And still, the shoulder textures go too far outward. The legs look great now though.
  14. Some possible shapes and such for inspiration: Less ornate Torans (sacred arches):
  15. A Stupa like this would make for the perfect Mauryan wonder (even though it is a bit out of the time frame).
  16. The shoulder doubling (the shoulder armor) needs to be almost vertical. Also, on the legs, the mapping should probably align better where the seam is. And the shin guards (greaves) look too tall.
  17. I would like to see a more "standard" barracks layout using the basic design of the superstructure you have there. Just to compare.
