  1. Thanks, man. I'm still working on that first human model. By the way, this might be a stupid question, but how do you zoom in on any place you want? I can only zoom in on the centre.
  2. Yeah, I'd like to learn how to use Blender too. I downloaded it today. Apparently it's meant to be really easy, but right now I'm quite confused, to say the least. For now, I am following this book: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro
  3. Mythos... these right? Heavy Infantry Hoplitai Spartiate homoioi Pezhetaroi/Phalangitai Ekdromoi Hieros Lochos?? Hypaspistai? Light Infantry Toxotai (in screens) Akontistes or Peltast (not sure which name you'll use) Sphendonotes basic Psiloi? Heavy Cavalry Hetaroi Hyppikon/Hippeis Prodomos Light Cavaly Hyppikontistes? Maybe as another Thessalian unit Siege Gastraphetes Ram? I hope so. Oxybeles Lithobolos Ships Pentakonter Trireme Heroes Themistokles Leonidas Alexandros Philip Lysander? Perikles? I also have a dream... Melanohitonai
  4. I can also help you with the Haudenosaunee/Iroquois, as well as neighbouring tribes.
  5. I know a bit about rastafarianism and I have had some experience with cannabis sativa. I never listened to Marley though... can't get into reggae. Q: Why were the links deleted?
  6. It's a cool painting but there are some mistakes, like they should have dreadlocks rather than just long hair, no linothorax and no lamvtha (unless it's after Plataea and between the Pelopo-Attic wars). That picture is very famous and is usually one of the first that someone getting into the Spartans will discover. I'm not sure who drew it, it doesn't look like Peter Connolly's work (who drew a very similar Spartan with linothorax).
  7. Oh no, I like his bronze Spartan a lot. I just don't like his other three with linothorax... I mean, they're great looking skins, but the inaccuracy kills me.
  8. I'll need to reinstall RTW first, then I might download that. I hate those Spartan skins, though.
  9. You kidding? I think they're about AOE3 standard right now, if not even better. Anyway, maybe it's just the screenshots that aren't doing them justice (though I think they look fine). I was really looking forward to RaF over the period before it's release, but as I learned more about it (AWFUL hero choices, a lot of historical inaccuracy) and after playing the demo, I just thought it wasn't the ancient-based game I really wanted, and had been waiting for since AOE1 started to lose impact. RaF also just seemed to be very much behind more recent RTS games gameplay wise, fairly generic units, lack of food (proves how important it is as a resource in this kind of game) and no huge differences between the four civilizations, bar unit and building appearances. Hero mode can be pretty fun, though. Anyway, I hope 0 A.D. can fill the gap in the space where a great ancient-based RTS game should be. But I know this'll be a while until it's release, so until then... War Chiefs.
  10. I'd like to know what civs and the like you're planning. I might be interested in joining For Honour and Glory, as I've started to take an interest in modding.
  11. No offence, but I don't really see the point in this mod if it's almost identical to AOE3. I mean, if the colonization of Africa, Asia and Oceania is a theme, that's different... but not one just about the Americas again. Sure, you could make it more historically accurate, but AOE3 is already arguably the most accurate pre-WW1 RTS on the market (bar the campaign and some minor mistakes, of course). I don't think the British had Ruyters either... for one thing their name is Dutch.
  12. I'm just going to take a guess and expect that it does not deal additional damage from behind or from a flank unless the Celts or any said enemies are in a formation, i.e. a phalanx or syntagma is going to be completely murdered from a cavalry charge from behind.
  13. Laconian swords were initially as large as other states xiphos (in the Persian wars), the sword only started becoming smaller in the Pelopponessian wars.
  14. I'm rebalancing a solar shield design. Not sure how good it'll turn out. If it doesn't balance correctly, you may have to use the 64x64 shield (avatar) instead (I can bronze it up a bit ).
  15. That's why I can't wait to see their units in some screenshots.
  16. I'm surprised so few have chosen the Persians, I thought they'd probably have more than the Carthaginians. Hopefully they'll get a lot of game time when it's released.
  17. There have been a few Sparta documentaries, though the only one I watched was on National Geographic. Wish I could remember the name of it.
  18. That lists some of the greatest battles of all time. It's unfortunate that all the History Channel concentrates on is Hitler. The last show I watched which actually gave mention to any of these was Decisive Battles, and that finished some time ago.
  19. Nice sig. Thanks both of you. I was trying to make it look more battered and bronze, but it kind of took away from the design.
