These faces are generative AI products, I used the Persian face texture update which I committed some years ago and instructed it to retain the UV placements and change the ethnicity from ethnic Persian to ethnic East Asian. I’ve read this thread and was just wondering if the stance regarding AI content has changed. In my workplace we adapt some AI integration with some cases but retain majority of our work to be done without it. This one is also quite interesting, I have loaded some of my old screenshots for new texture features, and instructed AI to “try” to reconstruct the image into “historically accurate” other cultures similar to the generations below. AI may also helpful for concept visualizations for possible new content such as mods or new features. From the images below, I think artists can simply work around and create something it. Generative AI is still a work in progress and usually faulty, but it could also become useful if trained thoroughly and procedurally.

  6. Let's have a thread where we can discuss different strategies in TG and 1v1 to make our gameplay more interesting! Some interesting TG strategies that I have observed: 1. Min 11 double push. Two players boom with infantry then suddenly send all to attack the enemy border, causing them to loose huge amount of units and all wood eco. Then the two pull back if the pocket is going to help. To prepare for this, you need to make only 50 women and 4 barracks to spam out infantry so that you get a lead before min11; at the same time you must scout where the enemy woodlines and economy zones are. If the enemies are unaware, you can beat both in one go. You can also set up outposts and palisades beforehands to prevent the pocket from coming to help. 2. Siege Hail. One player makes an insane amount of ram 25~40, then the other comes with infantry for ground support. The siege spammer should garrison their eco infantry into the rams when attacking; the garrisoned units can serve as repairers. They should also research all siege related upgrades. The supporting player should ideally use more ranged inf than melee inf. Entire bases will be obliterated in minutes and the enemy will have to rebuild. If they focus on taking out rams, then they will get killed by the supporting inf. Tough choices. 3. Boltshooters + elephants. Use elephants to protect your boltshooters and do massive damage.

  7. I also have another idea that comes to mind quite often: when defeat is clearly inevitable, Petra should type “gg” and resign. Ragequit behavior could be added as well. Watching it try to rebuild from scratch somewhere on the map with just 4 units against my full army is a bit of a waste of time. You’re welcome. Here’s a new attempt: 1v3 on the same map that I shared earlier. This is the first time I’ve won a 1v3 on Very Hard. The Petras had random civs and random behavior: two Germans and one Carthage. The Carthage Petra could have been much more effective here if it had built siege ships. commands.txt metadata.json

  10. My idea is to integrate this directly into the game, so that after 10 minutes of reading, anyone can understand what to do and how to succeed. This will lower the entry barrier for new users and immediately reveal the game's full beauty and diversity. I think this is something that's sorely lacking! And I truly believe this will help 0 A.D. grow its community.

  11. What I would like is an option in the Settings to change Gendered Civilians back to Women. Having female Civilians and male Citizen gives a more clearer feedback which units are civilians and which are citizens.
