  1. Hey sry, I forgot about this issue or something, just found it while browsing my content. This may not have been a problem with 0AD. from what I can tell now it's actually yet another wonderful bug with Active Process Killer, which is supposed to only kill the active process when you hold shift+pause. Sry bout that.

  2. As you can read, I incorporated the main points of what we expect Jorma to do. I am guessing they will have him sign a contract with SPI, which will include that info verbatim. They need it to legally ensure (and to be able to convince anyone who asks) that the money is really being used for the purposes SPI was established for. That contract would be the document the US tax authorities would be looking at, and that is what SPI is most concerned about. They didn't ask for our entire contract with Jorma. I guess the nitty-gritty details of our arrangements with Jorma (e.g. how many hours he'd be working, would he be available on IRC etc.) are secondary in importance as far as SPI is concerned.

  3. The screenshots are beautiful, but please, if you could focus more on producing screenshots from the player's usual POV. Thanks.

  5. personally, i think there should be two different types of campaign mode: one which has Total War-style gameplay, and another more like traditional RTS campaigns, along the lines of what was presented in AOK, with a linear storyline and setup to tell the story of a historical character or setting (such as, for instance, an Alexander Campaign focusing on Alexander the Great's rise to power, the Siege of Tyre, the conquest of Persia, and all the way up to the attempts at conquering India and, perhaps at the very end, giving the player a non-linear option to choose one of the Diadochi to play as after the scenario starts and getting different goals as a result (Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest had this in the last level of their Roman Campaign, where you could choose to side with either Cleopatra or Ptolemy and would therefore have to conquer either Alexandria or several fortresses in the desert; in-game, this was done by selecting a Diplomat unit controlled by the respective parties, which prompts a couple of tigers belonging to Caesar to devour him and turn that AI player against you ) arguably, a linear campaign would be easier to design and manage, and has been the mainstay single-player mode of pretty much every well-known RTS in the past

  6. Thats why we should base the game strictrly on laic non religious material.

  7. You should only use mainstream archeological science and researches for all factions (not limited to jews). You shouldn't base the civilization features on a book/work (whatever the book/work is) that is not a scientific or historiographical study (and i don't mean national geographic/history channel/discovery channel documentaries, no offence alpha). You shouldn't use the bible to create the jews, but an historiographic study on the bible instead. Let me explain, if the bible (a non scientific book) says the jews were "X shaped", you shouldn't just say "the jews will be X shaped" but find an historiographical study of the bible saying "This claim from the bible where it says that jews were X shaped is true" and then say "the jews will be X shaped". I don't mean that the bible has non-cientific or fake things, just that the bible (even if its content was true), was not written by scientific-post enlightment-historians and therefore should not be considered for the game until a modern day study of it confirms its claims to be true. Imagine it like a filter, we should use the filter of historiography and archeology, if its true or likely to be true what the bible says, there must be studies about it, and we should use the results of those studies and not the bible itself as inspiration.
