===[COMMITTED]=== Mauryan Houses

Recommended Posts

Everything looks absolutely amazing, but the texture might be a little too dark. Maybe it's just the lighting, but you can barely see the details on the barracks.

If anyone is going to make a faction based on the Mauryans or it's successors, they have a lot of content in this forum. Lol.

You guys are doing great with what little you have, lol.

I kind of agree, but it'll probably look brighter when we have a specular map applied.

I messed up baking the AO maps for the barracks, they're too dark due to bad "world settings" when baking AO, both barracks variation will be recentered their AO maps fixed soon.

Houses by Pureon.

These houses are so good.

Mauryan houses and the celtic faction(s) houses are my favorite.

Offtopic, but the celtic building models are just fantastic.

Btw, you guys should really remove the curved swords for this period.

I think the textures in SVN now are too bright...

lol ^^ - The lighting on this map is indeed causing some of the darkness.

Added another house variation:

Worth noting that I don't do AO or specular map stuff...

I thought for sure they had some curved swords based on Macedonian influence.

For sure they existed in India, but I haven't seen it in reliefs in that period. It's mostly shown in the Gupta period on words. Alexander's empire barely had any influence on India, but the Indo-Greek empire probably spread greek(much more than Alexander) influences like those swords. Those guys came after the Mauryans. And you can see them poping up after them.

Basically the type the "Mauryan swordsmen" is holding.

Fourth variation for Mauryan houses:

Before I can commit them I need to optimize the meshes, make design tweaks, and then create AO textures.

Those houses look great Pureon, Sorry I couldn't clean and post my own, but yours look way better anyway. They fit the footprints much better too

I used your models for inspiration, so your time certainly wasn't wasted (y)
