  2. Taking this into account, Roman infantry should have a bonus equivalent to the Aoe swordsman + an infantry tank unit. Maybe Marian reform give a bonus to Hastati line and more bulk expensive Extraordinarii.
  3. There are no defined strategies like in AoE. https://aoe.heavengames.com/theacademy/multiplayerstrategies/breydels-roman-guide/ Rome in AoE is designed for infantry + siegecraft From there on it is average, but it has powerful melee units. Although the Hoplite class is not the most powerful( with roams in AoE. But the combination of legionaries and centurions is powerful.
  4. I don't know, in A27 they're weak in the late game because of the crippled economy (they get Marian Reforms too soon). They were strong in earlier alphas. Mercenary civilizations are also bad in the hands of the AI because it spams them even though they can't gather. Persians don't take advantage of their strong cavalry. I'd say Han are now the strongest.
  5. The worst nightmare is to let it grow and have it be Mauryans or Persians, they spam like crazy. It is vulnerable to rush.
  6. There should be a small bonus for dogs, trample damage, it would be used to do area damage (tiny). Or even damage while moving hunting. PD: hunting humans.
  7. Today
  8. Thank you for the bug report in Gitea! Issue 8296
  9. Catapults have twice the range and many times the damage, how will your slingers deal with that ?
  10. My favorite has always been the Athenians, though getting to hunt enemy soldiers with the British war dogs is super fun.
  11. Hands down the Roman’s are THE hardest ai civ. With super powerful champions and a lot of siege machines, they can overwhelm my armies in a few minutes.
  12. OP AI Bot? Scary black mirror world we are heading in to
  13. Hey, I noticed the same issue while playing! It’s a bit odd that the unit doesn’t have a proper animation for attacking, making it look like it’s idle even when dealing damage. It’s good to hear that Deicide4u confirmed this. Hopefully, the team can address it soon, as these animations definitely add to the immersion. 14. If/when melee infantry champions become useful, these will need a massive nerf.
  15. https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/wiki/Home#user-content-technical-design-documentation I think I found what I was looking for. But I don't know if I'll be able to understand it.
  16. Catapults are boring and slow. Slingers are fun.Or they felt like they were. They were literally mini catapults. Sparta is just a re-skin of Athens but not fun I mean 0 fun. Champion hoplites and that's it.
  17. Rome was very fun in A23 because we had strong catapults and bolters to reduce those annoying slinger blocks to smoking craters
  18. But these are only appearances. They are not fun. In alpha 23 they had slingers and all the slinger civs were fun.
  19. They have two of the coolest-looking units in the game, along with one of the coolest Heroes. Literally Teutonic Knights with a spear. But seriously, they had Royal Stoa where they trained Mercenary champions. That was considered non-historical, so their unit roster was reduced.
  20. but your cc cant outrun anything (until the introduction of nomadic civs, that is)
  21. What a great idea you gave me, a taming system. Like in Ark Survival.
  22. But Sparta is boring. It's the civilization with the least diversity and gameplay in the game. It's nothing special.
  23. They are op, but few can exploit their opness as a food source because of the activation cost. In late game, switching to sheep farming is a recipe for victory. Patches of sheep near your territory also gives you the opportunity to boom with Cav. Trolling aside, I think Spartiates is not yet enough to be op because any unit can outrun them
  24. How are the others related? How do they appear registered within the game, I read that one must be through interface or hotkey.
