Perhaps X server settings are misconfigured after the update.

I would recommend double checking if your display options are correct and reinstall X server and the game.

I would recommend to disinstall the snap version and install the Ubuntu packaged version (22.04 has latest alpha 25).

Snap version is known to have some issues.
