What does that sort of website need other than:-contact information-how to get there-image gallery-event calendar-who we are-price listAnyone ? ZeZar
Recommendations You know, maybe someone famous has eaten there, and really recommend the place ??
Curufinwe
The Menu ... that is definitely needed. What I like as well, is to have a little history of the place ... or of the person ...Like, I went to eat in a little restaurant in the middle of nowhere and it said ont he website that it was an old ham in there before, with only 3 or 4 families ... just to give a little historical background ... I is quite popular now in france.Or how the guy got to be in the business, what he was attracted in ... just to give the customers the feeling that, by knowing a bit more, they will get closer to the place ... and feel nearly at home. Jeru
Parking, menu-prices-special offers, accessibility, special events (if any artists perform there).
EKen132
make sure you give it the same air the restaurant has... like gothic you said, in this case. So maybe a color scheme that the restaurant interior has, and pics of it. Not like a pics page, but in appropriate locations.
King Tutankhamun
For the location part, you could use MapQuest to link to a map. Then the customers can input their location, and it will show the distance. You could have fun little things at the top, such as "Quote of the Day" where it could show a new quote everyday. I have seen it on other websites and it uses and On_event code I think.Another idea, you could have a webcam hooked up so it either faces outside to a nice view or maybe inside. Then you can have the webcam automatically take a picture every x amount of minutes, seconds, days. Then there is a tool that allows you to have it uploaded and posted on a website. DarkAngelBGE
You see any reason for a forum ?
King Tutankhamun
That could be a possibility. Since you are the Forum Master, it would be nice.
DarkAngelBGE
Yeah well but is a forum needed for a restaurant ?
King Tutankhamun
The forum could just be a general chat forum. Therefore traffic on site = traffic -> into shop.Or maybe a forum is not necessary, and only adds to much to a website?
Natedog
maybe some moving gifs that add to a gothic moodif it isn't too goofy and make the website look crpy
Tonto_Icy_Tripod
A professional restaurant has no need for a forum, and hardly even a guestbook. Keep it simple and, uh, gothic? Pics are good, menu likewise (add pics of the dishes as well), and basically everything that's been said here already
CodeOptimist
Yeah, a guestbook or forum make it look a little "visitor hungry", like all those annoying Geocities sites "SIGN MY LLEEET GESTBOOK!!! CHEKC OUT MY FORUM!!!!!" Simple and stylish are what I'd go for.. not too fancy
