Hi,

I have a friend who gets this error while launching O.a.d pyrogenesis.exe launcher.

Does he have any anti virus software installed?

(Maybe GData Systems?)

he doesnt have any antivirus, except Microsoft security center

Does he save special characters in his windows account name ?

Did the installation go correctly ? (In other words did he have enough disk space)

Does it occur at start or when launching a game ?

Did he try to launch it twice at the same time ?

No, he doesnt save any special characters in his windows account name and he has enough disk space.

It occurs whe he try to launch it, and he stopped all exe process in the task manager before it.

Hmmm does he have a disabled soundcard ? If so enabling it should work.

Could you go to to C:/Users/His name/Appdata/local/0ad/logs and upload crashlog.dmp and crashlog.txt ?

Might want to check directory permission issues too, especially for the cache http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths

@MrFlackstone Looking at the crashlog it seems he has an usb soundcard, can he try without it ?

I'm Having the same issue (btw I'm new to the game , got interested after a youtube video and decided to give it a try, in which case i'm unable to, because the game isn't launching.!!  Now I found myself here.., so HI! )

 

Much to our regret we must report the program has encountered an error.

Please let us know at http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ and attach the crashlog.txt and crashlog.dmp files. (I have no idea where those are located   )

I have Avast Antivirus

I have 40GB free

It occurs since the start, like right when i enter pyrogenesis

My soundcard is enabled (realtek High def..)

and now I feel Clueless

yes

I last-checked yesterday, I downloaded two outdated drivers with avast;

Yet ,the game fails to open

Nope , Still not.

@ChocolateLover Sorry you are experiencing such issues.

Could you attach your system_info.txt file ? And another crashlog + crashdump ? In case something changed ?
You could also try to delete the settings file (user.cfg) and see if it allows you to open the game.

How did you download the game ? Maybe the download was corrupted somehow, could you try redownloading ?

You could also try running the game as an administrator.

This is the link I 've been using.  

I have tried to reinstall, preferably with the torrent

Oh, I have very bad news for you

Your chipset was released 11 years ago, and even at the time, it wasn't really good, so even the game managed to launch, you wouldn't be able to play. I'm really sorry.
