The Crooked Philosopher
I've like to suggest that if 0 AD would implement crop diversification where player choose to build different farm with a different cost for ecample a wheat field have a better harvest and more durable but with a higher cost while a vegetable farm cost less but yield less and easily exhausted after a short period of harvest. If these options become available it may provide player a new way to produce food faster than previous farming process. While food produce in a faster pace, reseeding should be available for civilians and citizen soldiers to rebuild their farm automatically without diverting the player's attention thus giving player time to build up infrastructure, defenses and expand player's border or waging war against enemies.
sanderd17
It was discussed (and will be in A14) that farm fields should be infinite (the working on farm fields represents seeding, maintaining and harvesting). So different field types make not a lot of sense (it would clutter the GUI too IMO). You can already choose between different food resources (fruit, hunting, farming, fishing) and you can work with technologies to make one food resource faster or slower than the other. It's also discussed (and partially implemented, but not enough to get in A14) that other food resources (like berries, fruit, fish, and maybe even animals) should reproduce. So they become a valid extra resource source.
Lion.Kanzen
Actually are infinite. But very slow the gathering of food in first part of the game. And you mean this ?May be we can have variation with the farm. Mythos_Ruler
We could make visual variations. But I don't think we should have different types of farms. Just visual. We could add things like Orchards though.

sanderd17
Yes, different civilization different crops for example wheat for Greeks, Romans, Persians, Carthaginian and Celts while rice for Mauryans. If you look at the game, you see that Mauryans and f.e. Romans already have a different field. There isn't a lot more variation because using 3D models for this was/is hard.
Nolanjoker
may be more obviusly.
Enrique
It could be done... thanks to sanderd's patch of prop-points conforming to the terrain.Hard to spot the workers though xD
