Phalanx
Just a small note, the Thuroes skirmisher has a pelta, not a thureos.
Phalanx
Wondering: Will the Ptolemies get another champion? Just the Agema cav makes hem a little weak on the field. Everybody else has two champs.
LordGood
I hope so, going to need some historian help however, the ptolemies actually DO have 2 champs, they're the only ones with a champion warship. It's a useless champion warship currently, but the juggernaut is technically a champion. Doesn't even have a model yet, actually.

Public should do the same.

Tomcelmare
I think it would also be good to give experience to citizen units when they attack buildings, plus increase the veterancy rate which is too slow for me...maybe this would counterbalance the overuse of champions in the game... Public should do the same. Yes, sounds quite correct. Sarissa-bearing Agema remained in the Ptolemaic army definitely at least till 103 BC (so-called "The War of Sceptres" and the battle of Asophon where Alexander Jannaeus' Jewish army was soundly defeated by Ptolemy IX - then in exile; see Jos. Ant. Iud. XIII. 12ff), and maybe ever later. 1 hour ago, SeleucidKing said: Agreed. Though maybe a different name....? Pharaoh's guard perhaps? Hellenic Royal Guard? Can be simply "Chalcaspides"; Josephus specifically mentions the brazen shields (προμαχοῦσιν ἐπίχαλκοι αἱ ἀσπίδες – Ant. Iud. XIII. 12. 5). Phalanx
The bronze shields are already the Seleucid basic pike. Might get a tad confusing....

Well, then they can be, say, just Sarissophoroi (basic unit) and Chalcaspides (champions/guards/etc,).
wowgetoffyourcellphone
IIRC both the cavalry arm of the Agema and the infantry arm of the Agema were both called "Royal Guards" or "Royal Agema." So, Royal Guard Cavalry and Royal Guard Infantry (or Pikeman) seems most accurately.

Phalanx
When will these be put in the SVN? (Unrelated note) The Aegma cav use a slashing for spears. Fyi. And I just realized the elephants have carthaginian drivers and seleucid pikes in the box. Edited October 26, 2016 by SeleucidKing
LordGood
Doesn't matter now as all of the animations need to be replaced to introduce the new models.
wowgetoffyourcellphone
The process making of new animations will take at least 2 more alpha it seems to me (I would like to be made wrong). So eventially the fact that new models and animations will be in the game does not mean this unit can't be put in the game now. But I leave that up to the wise game designers at WFG. I added the Infantry Royal Guard to DE because I wanted to. Saw a hole in the Egyptians roster and filled it. No need for a committee, is nice.
Phalanx
I just realized that if we give the Ptolemaics a "super pike" they'll have the strongest pikes in the game? Is that historically accurate? Edited October 27, 2016 by SeleucidKing
LordGood
If you're speaking of the ptolemies pike hero bonus, that only applies to citizen pikemen, I'm pretty sure

Phalanx
Possibly, could the level three pikes be given different helmets from the level two pikes? Since they both have white dominated torso textures, it's a bit hard to distinguish the difference between the two at a glance. Or perhaps, the level two pikes shouldn't have plumes, while the level three pikes do?
