12 is confirmed as possible :banana:. I'm now thinking even 10 might be on the edge of possibility, 11 looks pretty feasible. Remember that houses and dropsites are not conquest critical, so just concentrate on towers and the CC (if a barracks is built you were too slow :P) and killing the pesky workers. All this qbot playing seems to be persuading me that qbot is too weak though :(, .eXmGR.jpg

I'd expect Marilyn to behave better at this challenge, since it's from my testings much more efficient in the early game.

Use F2 and there will be a message telling you where the picture is saved to.

how did you got it soo quick?

I gather all given resources and make a forward base near the bot.

train some archers and shield-guys with womens in the home-base and focus primarly on food and a bit metal.

on the forward base I train exclusivly shield-guys and archers that all get to put on wood, quickly build a fort and train 2 rams.

while those rams are producing I send my first little army to deal with their military and then join with a newly produced army and my rams.

What am I doing wrong? :) I'm also very new at this game so I don't know any names of units, let alone what counters what. I'm always assuming it follows the rules I'm used to (aoe3)

There's no counter right now, it will be in alpha 9 afaik... So pretty much spamming spearmen should do the trick, I think they're the strongest.

I'm gonna give this challenge a shot if I find time tonight... Not too likely however.

No way did you make 88 units in nine minutes *and forty seconds! No way! I can't possibly conceive...

...maybe I just need to get a lot better? :(

yes, that was a pure waste of me as 88 units was pretty much overkill. should've attacked sooner :P

I really want to get it under 9:30

And if you think your doing something wrong or want to get a bit better, I'll write my strat down here in the forums somewhere to help starting players (like me) a bit further. :)

I would see you gaming..., maybe you teach us a tips for Rushing with Persians in 0AD, upload a video ( use fraps). maybe you can make a Tutorial for Noobs like me. XD

Basically all you have to do is build a fortress and construct about 4 rams. Send those in with an escort of about 10 soldiers to keep the enemy soldiers busy (because a ram will turn and attack any soldier attacking it). Take down the Civ Centre with those rams and then mop up the enemy units... ignoring all other buildings. By this time you should be streaming soldiers from your base, with a rally point set at the enemy base. Use all soldiers to find any remaining enemy units (females, citizen-soldiers).

that is REALLY fast

When I post my strategy I really hope you correct it a bit and help me speed it up :P

When we add phases (like "ages" in Age of Empires), this will all change.

No it won't. It will delay it but not seriously slow it down. I'm an avid aoe3 (I know...) player and each and every game I rush (attack around 6 minutes). That is pretty fast and I think there will be people able to do the same on 0 ad.
