That statue showed either zeus or poseidon depending on the weapon in the hand, so I just made both. It was kind of difficult to find a representation for how the ancient greek imagined a thunderbolt, but I certainly didn't want some harry-potter-kind zigzag thunderbolt. I made two separate meshes, but we could also add the weapon as a prop if that's better. Both models can use the cover prop. I'm not sure about the colours though. I added eyeballs, so when we have the final colours I'd like to add this (with gimp?):

The empty eye-sockets were originally inset, probably with bone, as well as the eyebrows (with silver), the lips, and the nipples (with copper).

@wowgetoffyourcellphone maybe you could have a look and tweak it a little? Also I just used a brightened diffuse as spec map for now, but I could bake something if needed.

Including modesty prop again. @wowgetoffyourcellphone ready for commit? You might want to tweak contrast, brightness, saturation etc. again :) Could also make a new spec from the diffuse if you want the cover to be shiny too.

Finally, another important syncretistic goddess is Cybele.

But I don't know which statue is better.

Another related one with a gigantic cult is Artemis. The Wikipedia entry for her cult and festivities is extensive.

There is no representative statue, the cult is very varied.OIP.E3jH4XeqvPKzxpPWvoFXxQHaJ4.jpg.5abc2fdcd4345cc51b8cc29a59a47d76.jpg

From the Greek point of view, the Ephesian Artemis is a distinctive form of their goddess Artemis. In Greek cult and myth, Artemis is the twin sister of Apollo, a virgin goddess of the hunt, the wilderness and the moon, who, despite being a goddess of childbirth was nevertheless known for her chastity. At Ephesus, a goddess whom the Greeks associated with Artemis was venerated in an archaic, pre-Hellenic cult image[47] that was carved of wood (a xoanon) and kept decorated with jewelry.

The features are most similar to Near-Eastern and Egyptian deities, and least similar to Greek ones. The body and legs are enclosed within a tapering pillar-like term, from which the goddess' feet protrude. On the coins minted at Ephesus, the goddess wears a mural crown (like a city's walls), an attribute of Cybele as a protector of cities (see polos).

I'm confused. Discobolus in the game already has a working AO map.

Discobolus already merged in SVN:

Just let me know what you want to do. Keep working on getting a 2nd uv, or just go with the one already in-game.

I think the cover mesh didn't have a second UV map, that was the reason why it crashed. And @Stan` wasn't happy with the uv layout so I made a new ao map with less black space and higher density. I found out remapping isn't that difficult, since I can bake from old uv layout to new uv layout without having to rebake all maps from hp to lp.

works locally for me. Are you sure you are using both the two new meshes (cover and statue) and the new ao map?
