I don't think you can prevent gold screws - randomness is never fair. Unless you are going make every seed map by hand, of course, it is impossible to my knowledge.

I don't like maps with resource screws, eg, Argh!!! The enemy has 5 gold piles in his town and I only have 1!!!! Of course, you could have like 5 gold piles and the enemy could only have 1... Then gold screws are good...

Is it going to affect the game (like, for example, snow makes units lose hp or speed or something cause it is cold, rain makes it slow). I would recommend it.

Some people don't really care that much about getting better. The people don't NEED to get better. I mean, the thing you're doing is kind of like (well actually is identical to) forcing - forcing, not allowing them to do otherwise, a player to do something, even though it is benficial. Your way just isn't fair to the noobs playing. It's just a far worse option.

I disagree. Some people play games for fun, and occasionally cheat here and there to make it easier. This seems discriminating poorer players (those who aren't "good enough" to unlock them.
