  1. Well, the fact is... mithril just wasn't avaiable in the same quantities as iron. So while the gather rate still has to be disscussed, the amounts definently need to be different. Might make it more confusing, but really attention isn't required, because the bonuses will be there if you pay attention to it or not, most ppl will just gather because they know it's making them stronger. Then trade will focus a bit more on the amounts, what you need to get another bonus... etc

*waits till Adam comes by to complete anything missing*

  2. I understand why 'responsible' ppl should be allowed to have guns, but as far as I'm concerned it's not up to responsibility to keep ppl from shooting a gun (it plays a large part in it).

As far as I know it, it's ppl who lose their temper or a pushed too far. Even responsible ppl can do that, just earlier yesterday in the hallway a student was bumping and pushing other students. He did it to me and I turned and hit him (not that hard) in the arm, of course, that was a short loss of temper but if it was any worse and I had a gun around, it might have been bad.

I think we should get rid of all guns and use swords again, those are easier to get away from :P

  3. I would arrange for my queen to take a 'vacatation' somwhere safe but far off. Don't want any chance of a rebellion in my own house. I would tell no advisor of mine of my plans for her vacation, she and everyone else will just think that I really think she should go to . No, not saying kill her, saying actually send her on a vacation.

Then I would meet with the Spartan embassador. I would tell him that I have done nothing against him, that the economic alliance I would agree on with Athens is because this way I know more of what's going on. If Athens decided to act against Sparta, they would know through me. But I would also warn him, that any secret act he would plan against Athens he should not tell me for I would be bound by contract to warn Athens. So I would suggest to him that he keep any secret aggressive acts towards Athens to himself, and involve me not. I would say he still has my complete alliance against any other nation. And would again reassure him that any act on Athen's behave towards him that I became known of I would tell him. I would be true to my word.

Then I would meet with the Athen embassador. I would tell him that I greatly wish for a economic alliance and peace between our nations, but can not break the loyal duties of honor I shared with Spata. But I would tell him that being Sparta's ally and his ally, I would know of any evil act Sparta meant to cause towards Athens, and I would thus warn him of it. But on the other hand, under the same alliance with Sparta, I would be forced to tell them any malicious act Athens had planned against them. Then I would comfort him, by saying that if Athens meant to act against Sparta, I must only not know about it and they will not know. They would have complete peace with me and if war shall rise between both nations I would help neither unless our relationship has proven more true than that of mine and Sparta, then I shall side with Athens. But I would again promise that I would no betray Athens, if anything I would be neutral to both. I would be true to my word.

Then I would give the people an offer, I would redirect a fair amount of my gold (money) towards educating three people from the village. These three men would be elected from the people by the people, and then would be educated in the arts of ruling an empire for 3-5 years. At the end of these years, they would become my advisors and share much power over some of the empire, but not enough to threaten mine. Then upon my death, they might be given more power depending on how they utulize their time in power.

Hopefully, this would ease all sides, not enough to consider it total peace, but enough to delay any conflict.

  4. I'll go for an easy one, kinda tired...

Simarils - 1 is upon Earendil's brow as he sails the heaven, 2 is deep in the ocean and 3 is either destroyed from being cast into a fiery chasm or deep under the earth.

I'll come up with some better ones next time.

  5. I have no problem with woman working on in the military. True women in the military gets a bit more complicated, but if they can manufacture nuclear bombs, I'm sure they can solve that. I don't quite like the feminist ideal (mainly because I've seen the extremes like the sushi thing as feminist) so I figure instead of picking a fight give them what they want.

I also see the mother/tending thing but I think that generalization is never good, if some women want to serve their country by fighting (and they can pass through training) then let them. Just like I think men should be allowed to stay home.

I actually don't have any passionate view on this, both work for me, but leaning towards giving women military rights.

  6. Render, I understand your point of view, and agree with it.

    but

    Qucaker this is opinionated Garbage.

don't you think that may be a bit harsh, no matter how opposite to your views it is. We're not gonna go down that road, or I don't want to, insulting other ppls opinions won't get them to respect yours. Not cracking down on you, just saying it in general.

But I agree Quacker was a bit too opinionated on the subject, to my tastes, and seemed to be ignoring some big facts. But who knows, maybe we're ignoring facts as well. Don't want to sound like Grandpa, just don't want this to get disrespectful.

  7. Well, it would be a forum where ppl could schedule multiplayer game sessions for other games like Halo, AoM, War3... they could even orginize tournaments somehow. This gives possibility for WFG clans and tribes for multiplayer games.

This would prolly not be a WFG led forum, mostly individual scheduling and events. Anyway, it be like I go on, say that I'm planning a Halo game on so so date and time, then I get to play against ppl from this community. Anyway, just vote to say if you'd be interetested or not in such a forum...

  8. Ok, maybe it's because I'm a teenager (my mom said few teenagers trust the news) but I prefer not to base my opinions on the news, or media. They are biased, it's their opinions they are getting across like everything else. Instead, if I really want the truth, or as close to it as I feel comfortable, I take in the news, media, websites forums about everything, then guess (yea, u heard me) what is the truth. Because the total truth can never be told, that's because if it was there would be a lot of indecision among the ppl (I'm not saying it shouldn't be told, I'm saying why I think it's not told). If they exagerate to the side they think is right, then it's more likely to make up ppl's mind.

Ok, I know I'm basing this next part on a not very reliable source (hehe), but on the Daily Show they said that Bush's administration took a flag that said the war was over to a ship, then the administration never told them to put it up but the navy did anyway. Of course, this isn't reliable news but if it's correct, then I'd say Bush obviously thought it was over. I know this part just lowered the whole respect of my post, but I don't care :P

I don't think we should be in Iraq, and I don't think 9/11 is reason for the Iraqui war, specially since we never quite finished in Afghanistan.

  9. It almost stings doesn't it Halmarion, I remember when I was hit with that much info... lol.

Adam: I remember the first time you showed up at WFG (then WFS) you had models of Noldor warriors in movie style. Were they strictly movie only models, or did you not know at the time? just curious

  10. Ok, let's see (I over load myself almost all the time and underwork myself as well)

    * Finish sentence outline for Research Paper (on copyright debate) and then I want to actually finish my rough draft for it.

    * Respond and post on these fine forums, reply and check e-mail. (in progress)

    * Finish math homework.

    * Being my section of the DD for TLA.

    * Go on MSN to see if any TLA-related ppl are on, don't have time to idly chat

    * Go get applications to a few gas stations and stores (wal-mart, target...)

    * Get a game of War3 in or Halo.

    * Check out Dungeons & Dragons The Temple for Elemental Evil demo I downloaded.

    * Work on my "The Elven Tales" scenario

    * Watch 24 on TV

From that, I'll prolly get 3-4 of them, just my tendency to overestimate myself :-(

  11. They wore chain mail, not plate armor. They used swords and spears (I guess these weapons are not altogether untrue) but Tolkien does say they were scale mail and chain mail and he never mentions plate armor. If I'm not mistaken he actually says they don't wear it (can't give you references though)
