Um would vote to have mini map either right or left depending on user setting... but meanwhile would like to make the minimap just disappear, makes the game more fun for me. beyond control-alt-G is there a setting to obliterate my mini?

Copy those map files into the same folder as the other game maps (like Acropolis for example). user/maps/skirmishes/ or user/maps/scenarios/ Restart the game so it knows of your new map!
