  2. ok ... well, let's suppose I can make nice texturing ... my main concern was ... TLA is going to be a real-time 3D game, right ? So, if you will look at the building on one side, it will need shadow texturing ... but if you turn around the building, you will still see the marks of the shadows that were on the other side ... do you see what I mean ... ? It is difficult to explain anyway

  3. Hum ... I have updated the Dwarven Trading Post with texturing as you advised me ... how many "faces" do you think is acceptable ? I have 500+ and that's the least I can do ... with a reasonable result.

Still the same link as before to see the new Trading Post

  4. Why ? Well, I loved your work and I love doing small models with 3D studio Max ... there is no idea behind making those models ... I would apply if I could but I don't think I can, for 2 reasons :

1/ I don't think I am good enough to be part of a designing team such as Wildfire Games

2/ Don't forget I am a teacher and I onyl do that during my spare time ... I had a week holiday last week and I could spend my days on the computer ... but most of the time, I only sped an hour or so in front f my PC.

If I can be in the team, fine ... but I wouldn't do it as a full time work.

Don't worry Adam, I don't want to take your seat  (just kiddin'), bur again, there is no intention for doing those models ... just want to share with fans what the game COULD look like in the future ... with Quellion's design as a reference.

Anyway, apart fro that, I hope you like my design ! ;)

  5. the more interesting (and realistic) it gets, the more complicated it becomes for the programmer ... Yet, I have an interesting (yet quite old) example to give. I used to play a game called "Anno 1602" ... and you could trade with other islands ... you could sell goods (and get gold from it) or buy goods (and be ripped off your gold  ). Anyway, I thought that might be a lesser difficult way of setting up trade between players and Independent Civilizations.

  6. thanks a lot ...

I am going to start the bigger buildings next week ... School starts again tomorrow (I work in a school) and I won't have as much time to design them. But I hope the works are not unrespectful of Quellion's designs ...

  7. ok, this is the last update before I go to bed ! here are the Dwarven Brewery, the Dwarven Treasury and the Dwarven Trading Post (that I started yesterday) ... I hope the quality is going increasing !

as usual, go to http://www.chez.com/curufinwe/ and click on "Tolkien" on the left hand size of your screen and ... wait a bit for the imags to appear

  8. ok here is the address for the fully finished Dwarven Trading Post of mine on a design of Quellion.

http://www.chez.com/curufinwe/ and click on "Tolkien" on the left hand size.

As for using a texture for the doors and windows ... why not ... it is just that I enjoyed making those models and I wanted them to stick (as much as possible) to the drawing. I am not very keen on texturing, I am afraid. But I can try.

  9. Hi, I have finished the Dwarven Trading Post ... I have the images online ... If you are interested, reply and I will give you the full address ... I am not sure if I am allowed to write the link on the forum! If you want to know what exactly I have done, check the Dwarven civilisation page and click on the Trading Post artwork by Adam.
