  1. I didn't get a picture of the forumer I supported, what gives?
  2. Has anyone played Max Payne 2? It combines ragdoll, explosions and slow-motion. It's fun.
  3. lol, you get 10 points for ingenuity. I expect weekly email updates though.
  4. For me, the plot is the most important. However, blowing stuff up is a huge bonus.
  5. It depends on how we specify the GUI. If it's a static image, of course it will be pratically impossible to accomplish, but if the GUI is defined by some type of script making it dynamic shouldn't be all that difficult.
  6. A customizable GUI would be a very useful feature. Players would be able to remove things they never use or even turn of the GUI all together. I like it...
  7. The plan is that paths will naturally develop on terrain that is frequently walked upon. Paths will provide a movement bonus to units and other types of terrain will hinder movement. I'm not sure if any of the civilizations will be able to build roads though. That's a question for the designers.
  8. I don't know what magazine you're reading, but those requirements are way off. The official minimum requirements are: The recommended specs:
  9. I was unbeatable in Jedi Outcast until they patched it so much it became a mindless click-fest. Long before that I was a master at Quake.
  10. We are going to use Lua as the scripting language so all of the language features will be available (things like branching, looping, standard operators, etc.). We will be adding special functions to send/retrieve data to/from the game and those are the items I would like suggestions for. The reference manual for Lua can be found at http://www.lua.org/manual/5.0, but we will provide a condensed version for people who would like to write AI scripts.
  11. I think my favorite movie so far is the one at the end of the orc campaign in Warcraft III, unless you count the trailers for the game. Those were as good as movie trailers.
  12. That's a cool idea in theory, but I can see that becoming very frustrating in actual gameplay. I think it would work pretty well if morale only affected the amount of damage each unit does. It would be cool if we could also display the loss in morale graphically, like darkening the units or the area.
  13. This one I don't know... I'm guessing the Apple II
  14. Here's a website that does time zone conversion. http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc Might help everyone coordinate.
  15. I think games are so much fun because they give you a sense of power that you can't get in real life. How often do you get to direct a war or save the world?
  16. I don't see why we wouldn't have a public beta. The game's going to be free anyway...
  17. By then we might have holographic hard drives which will allow for a LOT more space. In fact, we might have Terabyte CDs as early as next year.
  18. My ultimate game would be a world simulation, like Morrowind on steroids. NPCs would lead real lives instead of must milling around. News and gossip would travel around the world as in real life. Legends would be created based on what you've done or how you've done it. My game would be awesome.
  19. I just read a preview for "Battle For Middle Earth". It looks really cool.
