  2. Sonds reasonable. Couldn't we just make the building a hill/rock itself? (like Stonehenge or the Celtic hill of Ludo) Otherwise we just use a usual building. It's okay. (oh, you plan more animals.. )
  3. You are right! I wonder whether we can we place a complete rock as a building? (Like for the celtic hill wonder)
  4. correction: Roman Greek are the 0A.D. timeframe. My fault. We deal with Byzantine Imperium
  5. It seems we don't have much to do for the Greek culture as 0A.D. already covers most. TODO - Proto-Greeks for Bronze Age (Aristeia Release). - Roman Greek for Ancient (0A.D.) - Byzantine Empire (Millennium Part I: Rhomai (Eastern Roman))

  7. Indeed. That's why I linked this topic here now as [Concepts] link next to the Art Asset Filename(s). The problem with using these TASKs as showing which tasks are available is that the artists had to search this forum (what they don't want to do as I understand... especially if more and more tasks are added). Instead artists want to have a quick glance at a list and pick a task from there. Then ideally the artist opens a =TASK= topic and keeps the first topic up to date (while comments are on the work in progress). An optional concept/research topic to the Art Asset might be a speed up for the artists as no research has to be done, though I think most artists have their own way. Thus such concept/research topics should stay optional (and I must link them in the Art Asset lists, hit me if I forget it!).
  8. Hi masters, I wonder if we should keep back with those "TASK"s for as long as noone is working on it. (Task means WIP work in progress. Instead we can call research/concepts and link to this topic from our Art Asset Wishlist for the Egyptians. ) If it's fine for you of course. What do you think?
  9. The Temple of Abu Simbel instead? "His greatest works were the rock-hewn temple of Abu Simbel, dedicated to Amun, Ra-Harmachis, and Ptah; its length is 185 feet, its height 90 feet, and the four colossal statues of the king in front of it - cut from the living rock - are 60 feet high. He also added to the temple of Amenhotep III at Luxor and completed the hall of columns at Karnak - still the largest columned room of any building in the world." http://www.discoveringegypt.com/Rameses2.html
  10. I will also share my modeling/texturing ventures between the Medieval and the Bronze Age timeframe over the course of the next months if you don't mind.
  11. Ok, will look at it. You added it for the houses too? AO we have. But Normal maps I couldn't find yet. (though I think those are more important than AO but this might be different in 0A.D.) Here's a screeny:
  12. Ok, I didn't notice. It can indeed handle more UV maps. (PropertiesPanel->Vertices (that Triangle) -> UV maps.) That's where the UV map for the ambient occlusion (ao) is. We have still some distortion but it should be ready soon. Though I now wonder how I could add a normal map. Probably have to change the XML/Actor material.
  13. I've fixed buildings, but the scale of UV islands is something we must be careful with. Otherwise the bricks don't fit anymore .. and exactly that is what we deal with here too. I fixed two houses. Yet some remain.T The points you mention sound reasonable. I'm not sure how quick I can add those ... (especially the Convert is something for later, we better start balancing a bit later once we're settled. currently I feel like I can't handle it all as in the next days I have to replace one of our farm's workforces, i.e. sheep milking, cow feeding, cheese making, ... I might have no time at all for half a week again.)

  15. Thank you for the dates. I'm happy our community has people around who are both interested in history and willing to contribute too. That's our rocket mixture. Will update the list. Celts out. Goths in. The Normans are also wrong .. or were all Vikings Germanic? (Now I also know the Alemanni were Germanic, my gratitude for answering this question.) I will create a separate topic for Celtic culture then.
  16. Thanks that's helping. Celtic were driven westward and thus Wales were also Celtic, am I wrong here again? I wanted to clarify this since long. I always wondered because we have several Celtic re-enacters here in Germany. Thus I wondered if those were somehow Germanic, but I see, it's completely different. @Japanese: I checked a bit with other sources and determined, that Asuka is not suitable. It's not significant enough. Here is what I came up with so far for the complete Japanese timeline. What do you think? (At least we can't include all those less than 100-years periods .. not in the beginning at least.)
  17. The second floor we could add per tech research (via actor change on tech research or via prop addition on tech research). Nice drawing, though I wonder if the upper floor windows are those sliding doors or windows? Edit: And in this period we don't have straw roof anymore?

  19. Incredible, 7 arrows in 17 seconds. That's amazing. Starting from &t=2m01s. Will add the videos as reference (at least with link to be able to link directly into the 2m01s of video 2 where it [the Mongol style?] starts.) (added the eras/civilization variants to model)
  20. Man, I can't tell how excited I am where this is leading. It will be an amazing experience to be confronted with Hannibal.

  23. I like the list a lot as it develops now. The Generic Crusader States is fine. Though I have lost track which now were Germanics and Celts. As the individual factions like Franks, Saxons et al. belong to the civilization Germanics/Celts or did I miss something?
