Parthian do not use war elephants except for display of power during the reign of Vologases I. Other option like siege ladders could be a good option, while units like Hyrcanian Hillmen which i proposed was armed with axes which means they could destroy wooden palisade and gates thus solving the lack of siege gear problem, unfortunately the only disadvantage of these tribal warrior is that they have low HP and armor.
excuse if i am trolling, but, what happens if the "hycarian hillmen" tries to attack other buildings?, houses, barracks, stone walls, civ centres, fortresses, special buildings, and wonders?, we mantain the bonus??????, and i have a n idea for repair the "health & armoun trouble", reduce the cost for put this units very cheap and replaceable!

champion Unit for Ptolemaics, can be uses like as RAM
Library Wonder
i Take it from Other Macedonian post.
Ptolomaic rulers.
i must put some information about this units:
* The elephants usead are Asian Elephants and the Ptolomeaic empire sells some of this units for Carthage
* The units tha mount one towered lephante were:
* An holipite-syle units "with a long spear, 7m long" "panopina or pezhetarios por cathage and ptolomeans respectively"
* An Archer "egyptian or mauritanian, for ptolomeaies and carthaginians respectively"
* A Javelinist "egyptian or iberian, for ptolomeaies and carthaginians respectively"
-
When i'm playing 0AD "Alpha 14 Naukratis" for RFremix repositories "Fedora equivalent", almost all elephants don't have animations, the "unanimated" elephants are:
* Norafrican Bush Elephant
* Baby Elephant
* Mauryan Archer Elephant
* Mauryan Champion Elephant.
And the death of the Mauryan Archer Elephant
and the Mauryan Champion Elephant are equal to the "death of the buildings" -
Carthage have abandoned chariot when they encountered the Greeks in Sicily but it wasn't obsolete during the founding of Carthage and the time frame was fine for the Carthaginian to deploy chariots, but with a major problem : How do you phased out the chariots in the Carthaginian Army? Are they Editor-Only-Unit or generic military unit? IMHO they should be Editor-Only-Unit.
i mod my 0ad instalation: chance the famous public.zip file, and editing on simulation/templates/units/cart:barracks.xml, entries put the pers_calvary_archer_b, this is the indicated chariot to mod for an eventually carthaginian chariot!, and i have an idea, train this units on a "hidden builing" as to the hellenic stoa or cart tophet, in few words train this unit from a "hidden" structure, as the persian "kardaces holipite and skirmisher"

Update: For now, I am working on the design document for the United Monarchy Israelites, spanning the eighty-odd years of David and Solomon's reigns (10th century BC).
Here is a map of David's kingdom from Wikimedia Commons, found at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Davids-kingdom.jpg. It is a CC BY 2.0 licensed image, uploaded by Electionworld, from an original upload by Amoruso, derived from an image courtesy of Rusty Russell < rusty (at) wanned.net > from Rusty, Bible History Online, Oct. 30, 2006.
Here is a map of Solomon's kingdom, found at http://www.preceptaustin.org/KingdomSolomon.jpg, courtesy of Penn State.
I have decided on the pomegranate as the best Israelite symbol to use in the civ emblem. The pomegranate is fairly prominent in the Hebrew Old Testament, and incorporated artistically into both the Temple of Solomon and the priestly garments. Its rich symbolism in that era makes it, I think, a prime candidate for depiction on the civ emblem.
Here are some supporting sources:
http://www.israelstudies.umd.edu/AboutOurLogo.html
The PDF file is from https://ojs.lib.byu.edu/spc/index.php/StudiaAntiqua/article/view/11992/11932
Here is a link to an image of an ivory pomegranate, one which was possibly used in Solomon's temple.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/69/Ivory_Pomegranate_Inscription_%283%29.jpg
Here are the units I envision (details and sources are planned for later posts):
Citizen Infantry
Gadite Swordsman
Judahite Spearman (CC unit)
Zebulunite Skirmisher
Benjamite Archer
Judahite Slinger (CC unit)
Citizen Cavalry
Manassite Horseman (CC unit, javelin)
Support Units
Israelite Woman
Priest of Yahweh (morale/attack booster)
Son of the Prophets (healer)
Merchant (donkey with cart)
Maritime/Naval
Fishing Boat
Phoenician Merchantman
Phoenician Light Warship
Siege
Battering Ram (simple, team-wielded)
Champion Units
Benjamite Slinger
Philistine Mercenary Swordsman
Israelite Mighty Man (spear)
Canaanite Heavy Chariot (javelin)
Egyptian Light Chariot (bow)
Heroes
David son of Jesse
Benaiah son of Jehoiada
Solomon son of David
I think that the "juedean slingers" need some bonuses, beaceuse "in the slingers world", was of the better forces in the world, as to the balearic slinger!, this units is the "champion slinger" of Ptolomeaic empire!, fight without protection, only a helmet, and for the faction, because the famous legend of the fail of cananean walls with only pay we can put a technology of "celt style", the healrs increase the armour!
-
I see a Documental About that Conquest, im not Faith man, but i believe how fall the walls see the video
.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u16HOh0F-QI
i think: the scientists sayd "The Hebrews need some units under the walls, digging, we gan put that the units "disappear", and the walls lose health!

I think that a bright idea is give to the Carthage faction the powerful war chariots "potenicialized by numidian horses" representating the use of carthage of this units, therrefore fact i was moodded my 0AD inslation adding artificcialy the chariots aviable on 0AD, and comparing the results to the "wikipedia", i tries these chariots:
* Carbanto "Fail"
* Mauryan Chariot "Fail"
* Persian Calvary Archer "Perfect", we on a eventually carthage chariot, we must use it as a chariot "only replace the persian logos for Carthaginian logos"
this is my source for want and ask for it
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ej%C3%A9rcito_de_Cartago
Although illustrations found Punic war chariots , are reliefs of Phoenician and Cypriot vehicles , which can take similar - if not identical. The chariots were used in Cyprus at the beginning of V century . C. , 100 Punic design apparently , but at the same time ceased to be used for the rest of the griegos.101 There are many representations in terracotta Cypriot car from seventh to sixth centuries . C. , also have been discovered remains of royal carriages of Salamis in Cyprus , dating from the mid - seventh to eighth century . C. Also have been representations of real cars or currency sacred Sidon Sidonians V century a. C.
The Phoenician goldsmiths the seventh and eighth . C. is also a prolific source of images of chariots. Parts of Punic war chariots found in the Iberian Peninsula ( c. eighth century . C. ) , as well as illustrations on them, recorded in tombs also Iberian soil , can confirm their employment in foreign campaigns of Carthage.
According to these data , the Punic cars had a similar style , both in construction and combat tactics , the Assyrian chariots the seventh and eighth . C. (eg control cars were distinguished in the field by umbrellas ) . Recent chariots of Salamis and Lift models had dual shaft to yoke four horses , modeled Assyrian . This would be the Punic truck model IV century . C.
Diodorus mentions moving to Sicily from 300 chariots , horses over 2000 pairs of "reserve" 102 during the war against Dionysius I of Syracuse .
During the expedition of 341 . C. against Timoleon , the chariots Carthaginian army moved forward and played a decisive role for rejecting a surprise attack by the Syracusan cavalry , commanded by Damareto on Punic troops crossing the river Crimiso . The mobility of cars, equipped with blades on the wheels, broke up and pushed back the Syracusan cavalry . To counter the onslaught of such vehicles, attacked frontally Timoléon elite troops , defeated and captured 200 chariots .
In the early fighting following the invasion of Africa ( 310 a.) By the tyrant Agathocles of Syracuse, the Punic army lined up to 2000 cars and 1000 horsemen against the Syracusans , who had no mounted troops . Despite such a disproportion of forces, the initial charge of the cavalry and chariots crashed against enemy infantry , which minimized the impact of riders and vehicles. Added to that , the archers and slingers harassed them with launches massive missile , forcing them to retreat on its own infantry , destroying it .
The chariot stopped Carthaginian widely used after this season , but during the punic wars was be used!here i have a photography!
i think that we can put the Persian Calvary Archer b this unis has the best appereance for it!, and we only need delete the persian icons, and put carthaginian icons!

We have discussed this before. I believe the current consensus was that it didn't really fit with our gameplay.
Note: it is planned to make regular citizens (not citizen soldiers) convert to the player that defeats another player. They will still be regular citizens and not slaves though.
excuseme for asking you, this citizens gonna have population cost?, or are free?

It may be too much to ask to plan for a full-featured Graphics Settings menu screen for the game by Alpha 15 (December 2013), because the config system may need redesigned and a GUI redesign is currently being discussed.
So, what I'd like to discuss is the possibility of a simplified Graphics Settings Menu screen for Alpha 15 and until the full-featured menu is ready. Basically just a simple screen that gives three options:
- Low: Basically everything turned off (e.g., nice water, shadows).
- Medium: The current defaults.
- High: All the whizbang featured enabled. All the stuff players currently have to enable by editing a local.cfg in a text editor.
i believe that the "setting.cfg", we need do an equivalent for GNU/Linux users, i gonna explain you, mantain the content of cfg file, but replace this file for a "settings.conf" file, free of the "public mod"
-
I think conversion should look like Rise of Nations where a Hero or Spy have ability to bribe enemy instead of converting an enemy with religious zeal.
Anyway, it's too early to discuss the functions and the principles of unit conversion.
or other idea, yet implementes on 0AD!, catch the enemy units and garrisson on the marketplace, and this "slaves" represent bonuses on armour, farmind, garther wood or mining, as to catch horses reduces the cost of the horse-mounted units, we can implement "slaves" as this
-
I Have an idea: How i can catch the enemy units and transform this units into slaves, and put as "free mercenaries" or "free workers"?
-
I Have a curious idea: Make a "cold war style" stretegy game, based on: thw 0AD Engine and design, and i have some questions!:
* Pyrogenesis supports explosions, shoots, flames and bursts?
* How i can create the explosions?
* Create and Launch missiles, how i can it?
* "Massive destruction wepons", how i can create the effects of it, for example, radiation of nuclear weapons?, lose 7% health per explossion?
* Build Airports, for garrison units on planes?
-
No need to do that at all.You need the whole svn if you really want to get it to work. When it comes to running it all you need to do is
./pyrogenisesis
From a terminal in the svn folder 0AD/binaries/system at least that's what I think it should be if not hopefully someone who knows for sure please chime in 8)
Enjoy the Choice
Oh Yeah!!, that's very very easy i gonna use it!!
-
Try the svn version just follow the build instructions on the wiki that way you will have the latest code and art,do not install just run it in user land(your home dir) not in system land(installed) that way it is much easier to edit as you do not change any system files that need root privileges to modify.
Enjoy the Choice
i have a question for you, how i can download only the public folder using the SVN, and install as a mod?
or how i can compile 0AD changing the name, i gonna explain, i'm using Rfremix!, and i installed 0ad yum yum install 0ad, hoy i can change the name of the "compiled version" to 0ad-svn!?
-
Convertion? Is planned feature, but is barely discussed how should work.
i don't know how program the feature, but i have some ideas to the future "slaves":
* Put a button to transform the units to "forced workers", with this behavior the units build buildings or go to mine or wooding, and get food!
* Put another button the units into "forced soldiers", with the strategy and technology of the birth country of the slaves
* And this units should be garrisonable!
-
I have a curious idea:
Catch enemy units and transform into slaves:
* Citizen support into get food and wood
* citizen soldiers into a free without any cost soldiers
-
That may not be a 0AD bug but one related to X-org's mouse/window focus behaviour so a check on the Rfremix or the fedora forums might turn up something as well.
Enjoy the Choice
i'm using the Mesa 9.2 graphics drivers with an intel graphic card!
-
Isn't it right here in the entities list?
yeah, i sse it in your snapshot, but in my instalation of 0AD, i can't find it!,
i'm using Rfremix 19 [aka Fedora 19]
and i installed 0ad with this command:
# yum install 0ad!, from Rfremix's repos
-
The Colosseum was really Imperial Rome so I don't think it would be appropriate in Part 1. While we are at it, ziggurats and pyramids would make excellent choices for wonders!
The Colloseum we can ut as the "celt tavern" on Alpha 14!, as an easter egg, and only enabled for some escenarios, and in the editor
-

-
simulaton/templates/units
excuseme for trolling you, but this unit appears only on "actors", not on entries, and for this eason i don't know where i can find it!
-
I'm using Rfremix 19 "Aka, Fedora 19", and i install 0ad, of the rfremix's repos "alpha 14 Naukratis" and i hace a trouble very curious!, if during the game's load i change the window, for example put Blender LibreOffice, GIMp or even Gedit or command-line, and after put the 0AD's Window the keyboard is unuseful, bebaucse i can't:
* Move the map using keyboar, i need use mouse's button
* Use Shift key for train 5X more units
* If i put the arrow's mouse near to the border of the 0AD windows the map moves!
i try to record the log on a command-line session, but the log looks perfect!, but wgen i'm playing, "the bug attacks"
-
We're working on it: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/2190
Some things are meant to happen (like you shouldn't be able to garrison rams inside a CC), but some things (like the dogs) are a bug.
i gonna explain you with fail examples:
* Carthage: Elephant!, and Hanibal Barca "an Elephant", on Birreme, Trirreme and Quinquerreme
* Briton: Dog and Ram, on celtic Trirreme, and viking ship "on random maps"
* The rest of civs "Rome, Persian, Gauls, Athens and Sparta", Siege Rams
* Macedon: Ram and Siege Tower,
And Manythanks for the Patch about it!!!!!!, play with this trouble was a few stressful on naval maps, because i need atack the enemy coast, built a civ centre and many fortresses, and "kennels", and be alert on 2 fronts:
* the "occupied terrytory"
* my terrotory
-
I tryied garrison elephants "using mauyrans, carthage and persia", dog as briton, and rams with the rest of civilization but i can't it!, i ask how to i can garrison this units!
Marian Legionary and Reforms
in General Discussion
Posted
in fact the "romans" as we know on 0AD are the "camilian reform", this army was create when bennus slacks rome!, i don't know about poblibyan but we can put:
* Remixes of rome, same structures but Marian legionaire + numidian calvary or imperial legionaire + equs + celtic calvary javelinist! as trained units
* Or technologies with the same functions
