  1. Byzantine Wonder can be the Hagia Sophia or Hippodrome.

Beauty don't? We must have this in the game, looks like a badass unit XD. I love the adaptation of Roman army in many types of biomes.

i think that the hipodrome is best! "the most famous"

the camel rider is good, but bizarre, because is only avaivable only on middle east and north africa

  2. the way i've seen it, random maps with player-versus-player or player-versus-computer aren't supposed to be historical, especially if you consider that some civs which never encountered one another are already in the game together (for example, the Britons never met the Mauryans). just because civs don't make sense when it comes to geography and chronology wouldn't make those civs less historical as a self-contained culture in the game. besides, the game already takes place in the fictional Year 0 ;)

the "saxonian" was in the first time only poor and hungry mercenarues, after a many kingdoms

  3. Pre-Columbian Romans are a group of Romans that theoretically went to America. True, these Romans were not in the same geographical area as the Empire Romans, but this could lead to a another 0AD game that takes place in the Western hemisphere - Romans vs Native Americans.

    that sound good, but .........

if Carthage could travel to here, why, can't rebiuld the civilization???, and go to attack???

if the ships could surrive to the ocean "that is hard, but possible" the passegers that arrived were corpses, and with corpses we don't have colonization, mining

  4. The first post represent the Sassanids objective to create a standing army where the cavalry served as the core of the elite fighting force, while infantry served as auxiliaries for the cavalry.

Second post shows that due to massive national mobilization, proper battle gear, mercenaries and war elephants begin to appear.

are you saying that the partians was a power, only bt the calvary, and the "aura" was the "guerrilla war" as to the ibean hero viriatus??

  5. Did Sassanids use war elephants?

the evidence is too soft, even weaker than the persian elephants!, only used duriig the battle aganist alexande the great!

and the towered elephants of carthage, with a strong evidence in the battle of zama, very late to be useful aganist rome

i tthink, that we can deny access to elephants during a time, or create as hidden unit

hidden unit means that is only accesible by editor

  6. Unfortunately, the Parthians never consider war elephant as the instrument of war because:

    1. the cost to maintain an elephant corps was unbearable due to the Parthian poor financial management.

    2. Logistics too proved to be a daunting task for the Parthians to maintain an elephant army since the Parthians was bad on logistics.

    3. Speed was important for the Parthian army and war elephant didn't have speed thus making them useless on the battlefield.

you should add is: Is hard trins useful war elephants, in fact in de "fail of zama" carthage loses the battle "even using the towered elephants" because the elephants used was teen and with weak trainig

  7. i try to modify he default factions creating my civ "germanics", but i don't create it from scratch, y gonna copy the default units of 0AD "Celtic faction" nad i have some questions

    * how "go to light" a hidden faction????, hidden means that is only avaible on editor

    * how pt to build the structures of i want????

    that means:

    * celt_homestead "civ center, BETA, i gonna replace with the just civ centre"

    * celt:hut as house

    * celt_tavern as barracks

    * celt_barracks as fortress

celtic: corral, market, blacksmith, dock, outpost and defense tower, copied out of the box

    and now "special buildings"

celt_kennel "train celtic dogs" copied from britons

how i can create my mod for a facion as this?

  8. Greycat, I hope I bring you good news!

    S.Rieckhoff

"Süddeutschland im Spannungsfeld von Kelten, Germanen und Römern, Studien zur Chronologie der Spätlatènezeit im südlichen Mitteleuropa."

    1995

I don't have the book, but I will try and translate some bit found on the Internet. At first glance, she tried and differentiate Germanic people in the Danubian area according to the pottery.

i think that we can find it on 2shard, 4shared or better "the pirate bay"

  9. Dose other 0ad-specific Shortcuts response as they should?

Might be, that the desktops have their own keybinding for Alt-Enter. You could look in the settings from those desktops.

no the shift key for train 5x * unit don't wor

    the arrow keys don't work

the only controls that work good are the "mouse controls"

    about

i try to use this shortcuts when i am not using 0AD and i don have response, that means that this shortcuts should "be free", and i think that: Or is bug, or is a trouble with the X-Window Sytem and related libraries

  10. i play 0AD "alpha 14 naukratis" from Refremix repositories, when i play "alt-enter" i have troubles!: because the keyboard is unuseful! and the alt-enter combination don't response as i want it! "put on the same resoluion of full-screen", this "bugs" happens on GNOME Shell, GNOME Classic, MATE, Cinnamon, the only desktops that this bugs don't fix is: KDE, XFCE, LXDE

  11. As far as I know, the only textual evidence of the Carthaginians using towered elephants is with Hannibal's elephant, "Sura" or "Syrian." The rest of Carthage's elephant corps went un-towered. There is plenty of evidence that the Ptolemaic war elephants used towers, so they will definitely have towers.

In fact during the Haninnbal's invasion of roman republic the only towered elephant was "the syrian" but during the "battle of zama" Cartage attacks with many toered elephants, very late, but were used

  13. I think the the towered elephants on the Alpha 15 of 0AD, must be add to carthaginian faction i gonna explain! the reazon:

Carthage all the time buies Towered Elephants to Ptolomeaic Empire!, in fact dirung the 1 and 2 punic wars this units was of the most important unit for Carthage, this unit caouldn't be used as shock unit, the most common use of is unit is shoot Arrows Stones and Javelins, but this unit isn't weak for the "face-to-face fight", because for this combat has: The elephant itself, and a "panopila" with the same armour of the hellenic holipites but mounted on the elephant

    this is my source!

    https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ej%C3%A9rcito_de_Cartago

We can use as base for this unit the "ptolomeaic" towered elephant

  14. http://www.historyfiles.co.uk/KingListsEurope/BarbarianCherusci.htm

Marcomanni wasn't a superpower it was a confederation of tribes rather than a single tribes made up of clans.

Indeed, without the Goths there will be no modern Spain, but unfortunately i think Goths should be a major faction not the Cherusci or Marcomanni and i strongly support the Goths as a major faction.

Ok, but yet we know the 2 reamining factions, and i have some corrections:

    2 germanic factions

    * Ancient Germans: Acodring to Germania by Tacitus the Sweben were a powerful tribe, in fact this tribe wast a superpower, but was of the most powerful germanic tribes in the ancient history!, y can put it

    * "Middle age germans" we put the Goths
