I agree completely... Just looking at moddb mod pages you can see how many "failed" mods there are-- we shouldn't post anything to moddb until we have a solid foundation of work (be it models or music or units or whatever else) to show off! It's still pretty good-- It's more of a title than a logo though. Maybe try to do something like what Rise of the East did with their logo (modifying the 0 A.D. official logo) But still-- It's good for a title.

For now, our name is 0 A.D. Bronze Age, but if you have a better idea on what to name it, then feel free to include that with your logo! Also, as far as licensing is concerned, I have no idea what creative license we have yet... this is the first mod/game I've ever been a part of so I'll look into that.

Hey everyone, So I was thinking that we should have an official moddb page for our mod, and I'd be more than happy to make it for us, but I ran into one problem-- Moddb requires that you give them proof of actual in-game content from our mod. Anything as simple as a logo would suffice, so I was thinking we should have a Logo Contest. Here is what it entails: 1. Sumbit your logo to this thread by the end of the week (that is, conveniently, also the end of the month, the 31st). 2. Votes will be counted via reputation points. You can vote as soon as a logo is posted and voting will continue until Sunday the 3rd of February, at which point the winner is decided! Good Luck Everyone! Atenmeses

I don't quite understand what you mean by this.... but here is what I found from Google-ing "sea peoples ox-carts": http://www.jstor.org/discover/10.2307/546252?uid=3739696&uid=2129&uid=2&uid=70&uid=4&uid=3739256&sid=21101698311197

this is being adressed in the main thread Also, those are great images-- I remember seeing an exhibit on Assyria in Boston a few years ago-- maybe try tracking down its website. It was at the Museum of Fine Arts I think... It had huge Assyrian reliefs of the conquest of Elam and had reconstruction-paintings of the Assyrian capital city of Nineveh. Here are those paintings (they're pretty famous):

From some quick searching I found these building references: [spolier] That is someone's house built in a Phoenician-revival style Obelisks appear to be an important element of their architecture An artist's reconstruction of Phoenician houses A reconstruction of the Phoencian City of Tyre Temple ruins near the ski-resort town of Faraya-Faqra-Mzaar-Kfardebiane in the Lebanon Mountains (on the left is a large foundation on the right is an altar with the distinct column style)

#1 Thanks to whomever did that (gave us a sub-forum)! #2 There has been talk of prioritizing a list of civilizations for this mod: Here's my take on it: Necessary: Egypt Assyria Mycenaeans (either Hebrews or Phoenicians--I lean towards Phoenicians because A I'm part Phoenician, and B they had many more technological and economic accomplishments than anyone in the region (these include the invention of celestial navigation, the alphabet, and the bireme, just to name a few)) Nice to Have: Hittites Minoans (the other of Hebrews and Phoenicians) Nabataeans (this is my separate mod that I was going to merge with the Bronze Age mod, even though it pushes the timespan a little) Interesting, but could probably be merged with others: Sea Peoples Nubians Canaanites Babylonians (I know they were super important, but they are very similar to the Assyrians and could be merged into Neo-Assyrians or Chaldeans) Not at all included: Etruscans (they are in the actual game's timespan so I would start working on a design document and present it to the art department to see if it can be included) Did I miss any civilizations? -
[post info and sources here and note that this may just get combined with Minoans or Mycenaeans]

Those are great resources-- I'm going to start separate threads for each civilization so we can collect a lot of image sources without getting them confused... -
Possible Mod Idea: Nabataeans/Lihyanites

That is a great reference... @Lion.Kanzen (if you are still around) you should work these symbols into the emblem in some way... -

The one logical problem with the Minoans and the Sea Peoples being the same is that there is barely any record of a military prescence on Minoan Crete until the Mycenaean conquest of Knossos, so it is highly unlikely that the Minoans were the Sea Peoples and if anyone, the Mycenaeans would probably be the sea peoples. Also, we could spend decades arguing over this and there would be no progress, so I think we should start working on the more major civilzations (Egypt, Mycenaeans, Assyria, etc...) and then come back to this later. -

Yeah it does...What will make this look different is the fact that we can put Arabian-style props everywhere and also, if you look at minor architectural details, like the doorways, they do not look very "greek," but rather look Near-Eastern in origin. -

Linguistic and archaeological evidence (collected by Israeli archaeologists including the famous Simcha Jacobovi) points to a theory that the Danaans of Homer's epics (mostly mentioned in Iliad and used in Greek as a near synonym for Achaeans) were the same as one branch of the Sea Peoples and eventually settled in and around a settlement in the Galilee called Tell Dan. It appears that the Sea Peoples were a collection of miscelaneous pirates from various places around the mediterranean that were all grouped into one category by the Egyptians. In this way, Sea Peoples could just be a synonym for Pirates and it didn't quite matter where exactly they came from. http://www.salimbeti.com/micenei/sea.htm We are going to definately include the Minoans anyway, so we might give them some mercenary units who would be named Danaan swordsman or something, and would be based heavily upon the Sea Peoples. I think that is the best way to include them. -

That is looking great so far! When that part is finished we should ask Gen.Kenobi or someone who made rocks to make a cliff background part of the model...
