  1. Some barbarian units can have a custom stance, I'd call "Impetuous." Basically, they attack anything that comes into range without orders and don't run away. Thracians, for instance, are well known for this. This would balance their uber stats a bit, as they are hard to control (they tend to have a mind of their own).
  2. VIA Technologies, Inc. 8/4/2010 6.0.1.8700 "Update Driver..." claims it is up to date.
  3. Flaming arrows were rarely used. Pitch was very costly. It's funny how in the movies every night battle must use flaming arrows.
  4. One also must keep in mind that the UI has to work on a minimum resolution of 1024x768. I hate this. I wish we could design a UI for 1920x1080, but I think having two UIs would handicap players who use lower resolution. EDIT: But Kimball's point is also valid. It's possible to have "fan-made" UIs. The problem here would be to make sure the UI doesn't allow the player to cheat? Not sure what difficulties this would have.
  5. We're talking about a speckled rock though, not a hunk of copper or iron. Though, actual *reflections* as in your example in the speckles on the metal mines might actually be noticeable.
  6. Very nice! You forgot to commit the ao for the Scandinavian rock though. I was wondering if you could do another variation of the Scandinavian sea rock and the temperate stone mine there. For the temperate stone mine, make sure it has roughly the same rectangular footprint.
  7. Why can't it work this way? Yeah, it's as intended.
  8. I don't think the unit actually drops resources "at the house." It's a pathfinding thing that I see a lot, where a unit seems to take a circuitous path from time to time.
  9. Breaks the game here. No music. Select an object and get a crash. http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/1592 May or may not have anything to do with the new sound system.
  10. Yeah, through passes. He didn't scale mountains with his elephants though.
  11. I like the sparkle particles though. And the "specular" effects on a rock aren't as spectacular as you may be envisioning. The sun has to be at the right angle and it usually isn't.
  12. I disagree. Civilization V is a very successful game, but it only has one UI aesthetic for all its factions. Same goes for the Total War games. One can argue that the current UI is ugly and that it needs redesigned. But if one were to make such an argument, one should be prepared to give specifics.
  13. Try to match the skin color of the existing temp Mauryan unit textures. And maybe some "cloth" folds and such in the fabric. Other than that, looking nice. Edit: The back of the neck (shirt collar, necklace) should drop deeper than that. Last Edit: Unit textures are 256x256. No bigger. I can't tell you how much 512x512 is overkill.
  14. Yes, that is our preferred solution as well -- hunters switch to an appropriate weapon, ranged or knife, for each animal. Skittish animals, they use their ranged weapons. Non-skittish animals they switch to knife.
  15. Probably don't need a table per se. Every single biome will need the same geology assets: Metal Mines, Stone Mines, and smaller cosmetic "stone" actors to scatter about the mines.
  16. The badlands ones are amazing, bro! Can't wait to add them to the game. I'd even want you to make another set of them for max variety. The rock formations in Cappadocia are insane.
  17. This http://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/12399 And This http://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/12400 happened. I'll look into it.

  20. Agreed. Same basic shapes, they just get more grand and "busier" looking.
