  1. If the calculation we settle on is simple enough, then a player's score would never "go down" at all, e.g. with Yves simplified version above.
  2. The hind legs are the wrong shape. It's funny, because everybody who tries an animal statue or something gets the hind legs wrong. The texture is looking nice though.
  3. I once had the idea that priests/healers could slaughter an animal and this would give a bonus to nearby soldiers. A battle sacrifice, or "sphagia" in Greek.
  4. I agree with replacing Xenophon with someone more patriotic. We'd probably keep him in Atlas though.
  5. You are using the old texture code in the actor. This could be the problem or at least *a* problem.
  6. Select one object at a time and use the "Export selected..." option.
  7. Doesn't 3D Max have it's own Collada exporter? I'd use that.
  8. I don't think anything should be subtractive in the formula... Your enemies are already gaining points relatively to you when they kill your stuff. Just a thought. Also, it would be nice to keep the scores relatively short, e.g., instead of 23647235454 vs. 234623476346 it's more like 21807 vs. 24742.
  9. I'm talking purely about selection sounds, not construction sounds. You wouldn't hear the sounds constantly, only when selecting the enemy item.
  10. I agree that this is a desirable (and necessary feature). I'd make a ticket for it and list it as a "Should Have."
  11. As Wijit mentions, I'd probably just give the Celtic (and Spartan) women the ability to fight back against attackers (instead of fleeing, which is the normal behavior). I wouldn't necessary make them offensive though, just defensive.
  12. The "barracks" in the game is just a concept, not necessarily something that existed in real life in the capacity we are using it. In real life, a "barracks" for the housing of troops would just be a really big long bunk house, or a bunch of tents, or just the soldier's own home since he isn't a professional. The "barracks" could even be the military H.Q. of that particular faction, hence be more "grand" than a simple place where soldiers sleep. The important thing is #1 to get the idea across quickly and easily to the player and #2 have a coherent design aesthetic for the whole (Mauryan) building set. I may actually even prefer the barracks to be wood and use the wood and white plaster style we currently use for the placeholder buildings, and leave the "stone blocks" to the civ centre and fortress.
  13. Someone was working on new water rendering code that realistically renders water depth correctly. There haven't been any recent updates though.
  14. Sorry m8, but Amish's still looks way better. :/ Also, those flat shields are Persian, not Indian (or perhaps you already know this). This is the problem with not having a full-on Art Dept. Leader to guide and assign these things.
  15. A request I have would be to put back the selection sounds for objects owned by other players. Or at least give some kind of audio feedback when selecting an enemy building, for instance. It just feels weird when I don't get any audio feedback when selecting my ally's or enemy's things.
  16. A little bit of padding would go a long way. A couple pixels.
  17. Wayyy too much to include in a tooltip. The tooltips are already too big. The garrison button needs to go into the garrison panel like AOK and AOM, so the pertinent information has room to be shown. Uh, really?
  18. I prefer the resource icons. Other games do it precisely because it's easier to read at a glance.
  19. We can support international keyboards via a hotkey editor. Shouldn't be a problem, right?
  20. Of course I attended a university. Anyway, we are not a scholarly publication, nor are we a term paper. We don't need to attribute the World Book Encyclopedia Volume 'G' because I read it once and gleaned some facts from it for 0 A.D. But I agree with Zoot that this is a separate question from one of legality and we need to steer back to that discussion.
