A tip: Hold shift while clicking the 'Idle Worker' button rapidly to select a bunch of idle workers quickly.

[Discuss]. Abilities Vs second attack
Mythos_Ruler replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, not sure that's necessary. I think we could make it very plain what weapon you are using if we make the cursor change (say, use a different cursor for melee and ranged attacks). Maybe it's something we'll have to add after an initial implementation and we play around with it for a while. -
[Discuss]. Abilities Vs second attack
Mythos_Ruler replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in General Discussion
I'm thinking if there are toggle-able secondary attacks, then we should use the same key for the toggle (I'd use Alt- or Command). -
It may be too much to ask to plan for a full-featured Graphics Settings menu screen for the game by Alpha 15 (December 2013), because the config system may need redesigned and a GUI redesign is currently being discussed. So, what I'd like to discuss is the possibility of a simplified Graphics Settings Menu screen for Alpha 15 and until the full-featured menu is ready. Basically just a simple screen that gives three options: Low: Basically everything turned off (e.g., nice water, shadows). Medium: The current defaults. High: All the whizbang featured enabled. All the stuff players currently have to enable by editing a local.cfg in a text editor. Just select the option you want, then click 'Apply'. It'll close down the game and relaunch it with the appropriate settings enabled. Probably just writing a new local.cfg ("settings.cfg"?) and loading the game back up.

The Italiote Embassy for the Carthaginians needs a remap after deleting the old DDS file it was using. It was using the old rome_struct.dds instead of the newer rome_struct.png. This meant that the normal map was not compatible and made the Italiote Embassy look ugly. Need the Italiote embassy re-UV mapped to rome_struct.png and re-exported (with AO map). Need this done with all possible speed.

The butcher racks are cool. Maybe they can represent some food treasures. -
design [DISCUSSION] Regenerative Resources
Mythos_Ruler replied to quantumstate's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
Well, I don't think deer or fish will want to mate in the middle of being hunted and harvested. So, at least some small delay seems logical. The sigmoid approach is fine. To be honest, I don't think 99% of players will notice a difference between it and linear regen, but for the 1% that thinks it'll be cool and "more realistic" then hey, I'm willing to throw them a bone. Especially if there is little performance difference between the two sets of calculations. I really don't see the need for this. The player really just needs to know that the fish are regenerating. But this brings about an idea. What if fish deplete like normal (and don't regen), unless a fishing trap is placed by the fishing boat? I think AOE1 had something like this. This is more of an extension of the current implementation or would it need a rewrite? Maybe it's okay to just commit the feature as already agreed, then maybe later thinking about doing cool things like what I just suggested. -
Is there a performance difference between the two?

Yeah, it was pretty awesome. So, there were 3 important Athena statues in Athens. The Athena Parthenos, of course, but also Athena Promachos, which was solid bronze and stood atop the Acropolis. It was visible far out into the sea. Ours could just use the exact same model as Athena Parthenos, but with a different texture and maybe different base. The other was a much smaller (slightly bigger than life-size) wooden statue of Athena ('The Palladion') that the Athenians paraded around on a litter during religious festivals. She was usually draped in flowers. Incense burning at her feet. Escorted by virgins and priests. Could just size down the Athena Parthenos, remove a bunch of polygons, and give a wooden texture.

Good video. Unfortunately they picked arguably the hardest map in the game to play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zpE5LJYO_k

I visited Nashville, Tennessee a few weeks ago and visited their reconstruction of the famous Athenian PARTHENON. Inside is a reconstruction of the statue Athena Parthenos. So, I was struck with the notion that we should definitely have this statue in the game. (me on the right) More shots:

Could do something like: Celts Britons Galatians Gauls Hellenes Athenians Spartans Macedonians Epiriotes Thebans Iberians Iberians Celt-Iberians Lusitanians Successor States Seleucids Ptolemaic Egyptians Pergamenes Greco-Bactrians Things like that^. Just depends on how we want to present them to the player.

===[TASK]=== WONDER: Britons: Stonehenge and White Horse

Nice! Maybe you coiuld zip it up and post it for someone else to add some details and play with it. -
The shoe company has the name trademarked in the context of shoes and apparel. They cannot, however, trademark the name of the Greek goddess of Victory for every context. All good suggestions. I kind of like Nemesis.

TRAC Ticket: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/2053 Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Stonehenge The Wonder for the Britons is Stonehenge. Stonehenge is a monumental structure built by pre-historic peoples from Britain from approximately 2500 BC to 2000 BC. Evidence suggests that the structure and the surrounding site served as a place of religious significance, time-keeping, and other societal functions, like burial. This is how it currently looks in-game: The blue part here is what we'd like it to look: Basically a bigger footprint, with more accurate stone shape, size, and arrangement. Attached are textures that can be used and modified if necessary.
