  1. Year 58

The journey to Eonfenwendil went rather well. To take a better view of the land, Arielle had climbed a bit on the west side of the chain of mountains. She'd stayed there until morning when the sun rose and swallowed the land in it's golden embrace. With a sigh, Arielle uncovered the blade of Poicóromo letting the sunlight touch it. She had decided to bring it, after Nolpandil had left the room, cleaning it througly. It seemed fit that it should return to the elves after all. She didn't really care if it caused her trouble. Ithan had received the letter, if not read it. He would do what she asked him to do and take her title, become King. Tarimar was no longer her responsibility. Morgoth was the one who lead her where she had to go. She would ask for the alliance of Eofenwendil in the name of Tarimar of course, but only until her blood, the link to that letter was consumed. She would know then, that she would be able to act without regrets, on the sole purpose of evil.

Arielle smiled at the sky, thinking about the other thing she had asked Ithan to do. Morgoth would be angry at her, at them. But it was a last act before at last, being engulfed by the shadows. Arielle turned her head around, hearing sudden wind by her side. Thuringwethil was standing beside her, a sickening smile on her lips.

Arielle - You are really annoying ! Couldn't you just le ave me be ?!

Thuringwethil - No. My Master sent me to see why it has taken you so long as to fulfill your mission. He has seen diplomats more compentent than you could ever be.

Arielle - And he is an incompetent fool ! Like he would be able to convince the elves of allying themselves with him !

Thuringwethil - You are in no position to berate Sauron the Great, fool! And surely with all the Elves you killed, people will know you here as a servant of Evil. I'd like to see you try to convince them you are good. *mocking laughter*

Arielle - I cannot prove them I am good, anyway, I won't be someone to trust in a few days. But I can prove to them that Sauron exist !

Thuringwethil - They won't believe the Lies of the Enemy idiot! Unless you can come-up with a half-decent plan for the first time in your existance, I'd expect you'd spend the rest of your days in a Elven cell!

    Arielle - Oh, but I am the Enemy...yours !

With a swift kick, she knocked Thuringwethil to the ground. Then with force, pinned her there. Thuringwethil, at first taken by surprise replied with unexpected force. Struggling against Arielle's weight she managed to push her a bit away, and transform into a bat, she clawed at her opponent getting free from her grip. But Arielle was a seasoned fighter, the wounds didn't stop her from doing what she intented to do. As Thuringwethil clawed one last time at her, before flying away, Arielle took her throwing daggers in one hand, and lauched them at the vampire, connecting with one wing, rendering the vampire unable to fly. It dropped to the ground quickly, beating the remaining wing not to kill itself in the fall. Arielle ran toward the falling bat, catching it and knocking it down, senseless before binding the wings together. The wounded wing would heal with time, but in that state, and binded like that, Thuringwethil wouldn't be able to transform again in her humanlike form. Once it was done, Arielle dropped the bat down, checking the gashes caused by the iron claws. Some were serious, but none were life-threatening. She bandaged those she could and winced as she put the pack on her back again. Picking up the bat again, she marched towards Eofenwendil, still smiling, thinking that she could still do this other thing, before becoming a black wolf again. And the fact it would make Sauron angry, pleased her more than anything. It was a good day after all...

(can BO modify the timeline accordingly plz ?)

  4. sorry for double posting, but as I worked out the timeline I modified my posts...and on the 4th page (or something like that) I'm a bit troubled...

I tried to work it out according to Mithrandil's timeline...but it's been difficult...really.

    Black Op's timeline:

Year 50: Eofenwë meets with the Blue Council of Rekiger, Morgoth brings Arielle once again under his Will, Sauron's spies discover Eonwë's land, Elegon's nightmare; nighttime murders begin in the White Islands

Year 51: Arielle summons her acolytes and begins her mission along with four other Hunters. Eofenwë returns to Rekiger and visits the various cities of the realm, Eofenwë later travels to Hamnkerh and an alliance between him and Kshazomuth established. Arielle also makes an alliance with Rekiger, Sauron claims the coasts of the Eastern Seaway up to the Savana, Goblins begin preparations to wage war aganist the Ninquequendi

    Mithrandil's timeline:

Year 50: Eofenwë meets with the Blue Council of Rekiger, Morgoth brings Arielle once again under his Will, Sauron's spies discover Eonwë's land, Elegon's nightmare; nighttime murders begin in the White Islands

Year 51: Morgoth brings Arielle back under his control. Eofenwë returns to Rekiger and visits the various cities of the realm, Eofenwë later travels to Hamnkerh and an alliance between him and Kshazomuth established.

Year 72: Silmahróta completed. Arielle also makes an alliance with Rekiger.

so...according to my own planning, with the additions of the years and all...well I'm in year 57...at the 4th page, when we encounter the diplomats from Rekiger. So...how can I manage ???

  5. I agree with Frank on that one. There is also something called Emotional Intelligence (got a lot of that, I think with my emotions :P)

Intelligence is not really defined. Think of autists...they can be out of this reality, but in certain domains, they're still considered highly intelligent. Even persons considered "retarded" have a domain in which they excel...

  6. Year 58

Once they were settled inside the monastery, they remained there for a couple of days to rest and discuss. Arielle formerly ordered them to stay where they were until she came back. Eonfenwëndil was the most dangerous place, they could pass through. And she didn't trust Nolpandil at all. The 4 others protested but she heard none of it and they finally agreed to it.

On the fifth day, Arielle was preparing her pack, with everything she thought she'd need for the trip. She added the climbing gear and some clothes better suited for hiding and hunting than those she was using to travel as an ambassador, just in case she was discovered and had to flee. Her long sword joined the pile along with her set of throwing daggers. She thought about bringing a bow and arrows, but decided against it. Then she looked at the short sword of the Poicóromo. It was still stained with the blood of the orcs and had served her well for a while. But she couldn't bring it to Eofenwendil, or questions would be asked...

Nolpandil showed up a bit before the night, entering her room without knocking. He looked at her mockingly as she finished packing her bags tightly.

Arielle*annoyed* - What are you doing here ?

Nolpandil - For no real good reason other than to annoy you. *chuckles*

Arielle - Then get out of here. There is no need for you to check up on me. I don't have the intention of betraying Morgoth.

Nolpandil - Well that comforts my heart. *notices Poicóromo sword and points to it* Surely you'll be taking that with you, am I right? *chuckles*

Arielle - I won't. Unless you want me to take unnecessary risks. *pause* In fact, I've been wondering, do you work for the dishonorable Morgoth or for Sauron the trouble maker ?? *sarcasm*

Nolpandil - Of course Melkor is our Master, and who says he's dishonorable? *chuckles* In fact, I bet that your defiance to both the Valar and Melkor makes you the most dishonorable. *chuckles loudly*

Arielle - I am honorable to the people I respect. I respected the Valar long ago, before I was chased, Melkor, I respected when we first met, now I do not anymore. And Sauron is the stupidest vermin I've met.

Nolpandil - And sense when did your people at this moment respect you? For all you know, they would have chosen a new ruler by now because you've been away for so long. *chuckles* In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if the so-called stupid vermin, Sauron made you the stupid vermin by taking over your Queendom, and that you were entirelly unaware of it at all. *laughs out loud*

In mere seconds, Arielle had flipped a dagger in her hand and was pressing it on his neck, her left hand held one of his wrist in a firm grip. Her eyes were ice cold.

Arielle - I've tolerated enough of your silly chattering. If you ever cross me again, there will be no more of you for them to find. Servant of Morgoth or not !

She pressed the dagger against his neck, drawing a little blood to prove her point. Then released him, sheating the crimsom blade. This proved to be one of the few times in his entire lifetime that Nolpandil had shown fear. Rubbing where Arielle pressed her dagger, he had to make up some sort of comeback or else he would appear weak, and he hated that.

Nolpandil - Alas, you do realize that the spirit of Morgoth ever watches Middle-earth. If you would have killed me, I'm sure he would have punished you severly, for he neither forgets nor forgives.

Arielle - It is not important. I've angered him enough already to expect some kind of punishment. This is just one more drop of water...or blood should I say. Besides you are not worthy enough for a clean kill.

Nolpandil - Then it is your folly then, why should I care? You know, I'll be honest with you. Ever since my days of youth in Valinor I had admired those who had great defiance towards authority. This was one of the main reasons why I choose to serve Melkor. I'll admit that you also show great defience, and that's what seperates you, I, and Melkor from the rest of this..... gullible Middle-earth.

Arielle - It may be. But there will always be a difference between I and you and Melkor. I have experienced something other, the goodness of those free people, and enjoyed it. It will pain me to see them suffer, that emotion, you can never understand. You have no heart for it.

Nolpandil - Don't be such a fool! It is the doom for all the goodness of Middle-earth to end. In fact, true goodness can never be achieved unless Ea would be utterly destroyed.

Arielle - Such is what one who has truly fallen to the shadows believe. Believe what you want, but I know you will be of limited use to Morgoth, once this land has fallen and you might not have so a mightily place afterwards.

Nolpandil - How can you know that I won't have a high place in the service of Melkor once he succeeds? In fact, this question is better asked towards you yourself, the easilly to rebell Arielle. *chuckles*

Arielle - Me ? It is not difficult to foresee that I will probably be dead by then. If not, I know my fate won't be bright. There is no mystery there.

Nolpandil - Well, that's a horrible shame now is it? But you never know, once Melkor becomes ruler of all of Arda he would reward his servants wonderfully. After all, if it wasn't for people like you and I, he would not be where he is now. He will forever be indebted for our services.

Arielle - We shall see. Now Leave !

Nolpandil - You'll have your wish then. But my foresight tells me that sometime in the near future you'll view our Master in a better light, and possibly me too. I highly doubt you will for Sauron though. *chuckles*

Arielle took out a dagger and threw it at Nolpandil, it stuck in the wood, an inch from his face.

    Arielle - I said LEAVE !

Seeing there was no point in remaining, Nolpandil calmly left her room, leaving her alone to her packing and her thoughts. Arielle looked at him go with anger. She could understand how faithful he was to the Master, they thought alike. With a sigh, she finished packing thinking about his last words. "you'll view our Master in a better light" he had said.

Arielle *whispering* - It all depends on a single piece of paper.

  7. Capital punishment...hmmm I'll raise some questions first :P

    1) criminals...do they deserve death ?

    2) can we really applie the an eye for an eye rule ?

    3) isn't it murder after all (by the State), even though we use a different term for it ?

    4) what happens when an innocent is put to death because we erred in our judgement ? can it be accepted ?

    5) I've heard that it takes alot more money to put someone to death compared to keep him in a cell for the rest of his life, what's the economical factor ?

    6) Can the death of a murderer really ease the victim's close friends/parents/husband/children hurt ?

I'll post what I think about it later :P
