  1. what's an angel in Middle-earth ?, how does it differs from the sterotypical variation?

hehe he didn't want to double post :P

My character doesn't really use magic, but I guess it could in some way, dunno how though.

*Moderator's Note: Bah, she was the one to point this issue out first. Need proof? I'll show the transcript of our chat then ~ Randy* :P

  2. Year 54:mid-"winter"

That night Arielle and her comrades gathered in the main room. She also invited the Captain. They all sat in circle, trading the information they had gathered so far.

Captain - They don't know about Rekiger unfortunatly. And I don't want to go further, from what I know none have returned from that land.

Arielle - I understand your fear. Anyway, from what Romenion told me, there is a pass upriver.

Atavaryan - What about us ? and the little Ithan ?

Arielle - You, Caltanar and Messúrie will remain here with the lad, I want you to gather some more information and then join us. You know how. And if possible leave Ithan with the blademaster so he can perfect his skills. Captain, I thank you for your care, you can either remain here or go back to Tarimar. We shall manage for the return.

Captain - It has been a pleasure travelling with you.

The 3 others nodded in agreement. The Captain bowed then left.

Eresan - Next week, we'll depart for the river. You will join us later, in a month or two maybe. Arielle and I will try the path if we don't succeed, we'll leave a message and you'll join us further down the chain of mountains.

Caltanar - Right. We'll try to gain the trust of the people here.

Arielle - Tell nothing but the truth, but don't mention the Lord or Numenor or even Sauron. It would put us in danger, from one side or another and right now, we're already in a precarious position. Goodnight.

They held meeting like that everynight until it was finally time for Eresan and Arielle to be on their way. They wished each other goodluck then went on their way, out of the citadel.

  3. Year 54:end of autumn

Arielle felt relieved once on the boat and safe on the sea. After worrying for so long about the elves, she had fought her first instinct, but it had been draining for the body and the mind. The others also had similar reactions, fortunatly, Ithan was to overwhelmed by the gift to notice and the captain and the other sailors didn't ask any questions.

    Arielle - It went well.

Eresan - Better than I expected actually.

Caltanar - We definitly need to get accustomed to their presence, and the fact they aren't all trying to kill us.

Messúrie - I never felt better though, it just seems like I've less to worry about. They are wise in their own way for so short a life.

Arielle - Where is Atavaryan ?

Eresan - With the young one, trying to teach him our ways.

Caltanar - It seems he is fond of the boy.

Messúrie - Especially after what happened. Anyway, I do hope he does not get too attached, he will live a long life, but never as long as ours.

Eresan - His choice. It makes us feel more valuable if we can at least make a difference in some lives.

Arielle - I suggest we sleep, tomorrow we shall continue along the coast up to the next town I guess.

They woke up the next morning, nothing had really changed, but Ithan always was close to them, even trying to copy their moves at the training session they imposed on themselves. The younster tried to practice with his new sword, but it sliped of his hands and it was embedded in the wood. Arielle sighed and stop her practice.

Arielle - Careful with that...you don't want to cut your foot, or anyone's foot. Here, take this instead.

She threw him a stick as long as the sword. And put herself behind him, guiding his hand.

Arielle - First you will control this stick as it was an extansion of your body, then you'll be able to practice with the sword. But I want complete control over this first !

Ithan - But it won't cut anything !

Arielle - Do you really think you can master the blade in one day ? I took years of practice to get to the level I am now. With a bit of chance, you'll be able to learn a few things, but it'll certainly take you at least a year before you can do it correctly. Now look at me.

She showed him some of the basic moves with the blade he repeated with delight. She corrected them a bit but he was a natural with it, of course sometimes, the "blade" slipped, but in general, after a few days, he was able to parry a few thrust. Messúrie taught him how to use the bow correctly and Caltanar, how to throw a spear. The other sailors who were interested were invited to try some were happily surprised. Even the Captain came to demonstrate his knowledge. He has considerable ability with the throwing daggers. The two following weeks were therefore considerably pleasant.

It was dawn, the first day of the third week when the Captain burst into the cabin the 5 occupied.

Captain - We've arrived at a port, it seems like Numenorians from the shouts I hear.

Arielle - Wait outside, we'll be there right away.

They quickly changed and got on the deck, Ithan was waiting for them.

Ithan - They say we are welcomed to dock. It's been a long time since they had important people here.

Arielle - (to the others) What do we do ?

Atavaryan - I guess we should dock. We'll bring the young one with us too *he gave a gentle slap on the back of Ithan*

Eresan - Very well, I agree. Maybe we can be allies with those people.

Arielle (looking at the people on the dock) - I sure hope so, I sure hope so.

  4. True love hmm

It when you find your other half. When you know you couldn't live without the person. When you get respect and loyalty from that person. When that person feels the same love for you that you do for her. When you can share any sorrow and any joy without repressing some feeling. It's when you know you can count on your love one to support you even in the most difficult moments. It's when you know it will be forever.

  5. Year 54

Arielle and her companions were marching in the forest when Caltanar spotted the two elves. They immediatly ran away, back to their village probably.

Arielle - What do you think ?

Caltanar - They were armed, but I don't think they were dangerous.

Eresan - We're probably in their territory. It is best if we are quick to gather what we need then we move off.

    Atavaryan - I don't like this feeling.

    Ithan - Elves ? Where ?

Arielle - ssshhh little one. We need to be careful now.

Caltanar - They're coming back, I can feel it in my bones.

Messúrie - They are alone ?

    Caltanar - Yes.

They heard the chant of the elves and waited where they were. Ithan danced on both feet wary and nervous, he took a firmer grab of the spear. The elves showed themselves and began immediatly to greet them. Arielle turned her head toward Eresan who nodded slightly. He knew those people had not been preys of the hunters, he always remembered everything. Arielle signaled to the others to lower their weapons, but Ithan was already running toward the unarmed elves with a cry. She pointed Atavaryan to go intercept him. Atavaryan launched himself and quickly outran the lad. He positionned himself in front of him and sidestepped at the last moment, grabbing the spear and lifting the boy with it. Arielle smiled, and sheated her sword. She told Atavaryan to get back with the others with the boy and advanced toward the elves trying hard to remember the tongue they spoke.

Arielle - Forgive the young one for it is the first time we bring him with us and he doesn't understand yet, the language of the hunter. We are not here for long for we must travel further North. But we are relieved to find friendly people here. We will gladly accept your offer and come in peace. *she hardened her tone* Be wary though that others like us are waiting at the edge of the forest and if anything was to happen, they would be here quickly.

  6. Let's say...I go to school at 2 o'clock in the afternoon to work. Then I have a class from 6 to 10:30PM then I go back home around 11PM and then I finish some more thing until about 1AM. I wake up (during the week) at 8AM. So I have about 7hrs of sleep per day. which means I miss 5hrs of sleep in all my week.

  7. Year 54

As the Sun started shining on the horizon, Arielle came to see the last of their hunters depart. They were mounted on horses something she had rarely seen any of them do. Atavaryan saw her and came towards her.

Atavaryan - I suggested the horses, we bought them from the merchants. They must hurry back towards the fortresses. It is unlikely Sauron will attack us, but the sooner we can secure that part, the better.

Arielle - What about the Lone Town ?

Atavaryan - Three of them are going there already, don't worry. Where are the others ?

Arielle - Eresan is transporting our packs. Meressúrie is sharpening all our weapons and Caltanar is checking the maps and gathering them, those few we have, in case she needs to scout.

Atavaryan - I'll rejoin her, don't forget I have to guard your backs.

He winked at her as only long lasting friend could and was off. Arielle smiled, it seems like old times, she went to one of the hunters, so he could carry a message to her wolf pack, then followed the same path Atavaryan had taken, changing course for the docks once she had thought about it. She met Eresan on the way, transporting the last of the supplies.

Arielle - Here, let me help you.

Eresan - Thanks, the captain says the ship is ready. He asks about our destination.

Arielle - The other side of the Red Mountains, that's all I know. We'll have to follow the coast towards the North and gather supplies on the way.

    Eresan - Villages ?

Arielle - That and the forest and plains if needs be.

Eresan - We'll manage, we've done it before anyway with no supplies in the beginning, so this time it should be easier.

Arielle - You think, we'll encounter elves on our way ?

Eresan - They do not know of us, not many of them.

Arielle - Let's just hope we will not encounter one of them who knows.

They finished loading the boat with the help of the captain and his men. Caltanar joined them first, with a pack full of maps.

Caltanar - I took them all, just in case.

    Arielle - We're going to the North-East.

Caltanar - I know that, but I suppose we can use them one way or another. Maybe to show our knowledge.

Eresan *laughing* - You always had the tendency to overload your pack. I guess we'll have to seperate those maps between us 5 now.

Atavaryan and Meressúrie joined them a few minutes later, carrying in all, one @#$% sword, one javelin, a bow and some arrows, and one ax. Arielle already had her throwing daggers and Eresan, as always, carried his staff.

    Atavaryan - Seems we're all set, let's go !

Captain - Crew ! Set sail for Rekiger !

In matter of minutes they were on the open sea. The wind was good and the sun had just started to warm the earth.

Eresan (to the captain) - We need to follow the coast.

Captain - It will take longer.

Eresan - We dunnot know about the place we're going to exactly, therefore we need to follow the coast.

Captain - Very well then, we'll turn around soon, I just wanted to be off those cliffs, very difficult to manoeuver around those rocks.

The day passed without problems, and the day afterwards. They sailed North for about a month before they needed to ressupply themselves. By then, Arielle and the others had catched up a little about what had happened between the last time they had seen each other.

Arielle - We're out of water and fresh greens, we need to stop somewhere to get some supplies.

Captain - I didn't see any villages near.

Arielle - We'll gather things ourselves, but we need to anchor the ship somewhere close.

Captain - I think we have a gap ahead, it won't be too difficult to manage.

Arielle - Good. (to the sailors) Is there anyone who wants to accompany us ?

A young sailor, timidely raised his hand, none of the others did, but all were awed by the proposition. In those weeks, they had seen all 5 of them put a hand in the tasks aboard the ship not complaining once, something they wouldn't have expected at all, now they knew personnaly why they were respected and honored. The sailor approached them slowly.

    Atavaryan - What's your name ?

Sailor - Ithan, my name is Ithan.

Eresan - Never noticed you on the boat before...which is probably good if you're going to accompany us.

Ithan - I try not to be noticed. I mean, I guess I got that from my dad, not being able to make a sound or anything. He and my mom, well they died when I was young so the captain took me with him and I do all the things he tell me to do. He says I do them greatly *he smiled a bright smile*

Atavaryan gave him a clap on the back and laughed.

Atavaryan - Good, we'll make a hunter of you yet.

    Caltanar - Here, catch.

She throwed him a spear he caught in one hand. Arielle looked at Caltanar and saw a smile of approval on her face.

Messúrie - Let's go now. Caltanar, you go up in front as usual.

They got off the ship, with the Captain's promise he would remain there. Quickly, they dissapeared in the edge of the forest (The Light Wood).

  8. Year 52

It would take years to assemble all her group, since all were wondering throughout the Queendom. She was sure they would agree, thus it was necessary to make the light packs they would carry. As leader, it was her responsibility to check out each person had the necessary elements. The food was not a problem, the sea was full of fish and other foods. The weapons were going to be necessary should they encounter problems but each of them had their own. So, she packed the clothes and those white cloaks she had asked for, with their emblem on the back. Pots, small daggers joined the packs, to serve as for slicing and cooking the preys they would catch. Furs also, since she didn't know if it was going to be hot in Rekiger. Waterskins, arrow shafts, javelin points. It took her a day or two to make those preparations for the four of them who would accompany her since she made all those things by hand to be sure they wouldn't break or fail in someway. The days after, she asked some of the tradeboats captains if they were willing to make the trip, she found one suited to her needs and made the arrangements. Once this was done she felt much better, the only thing that was left to do is wait and dust those packs when necessary.

    Year 54

They finished arriving that year, during the spring, some alone, others with friends. There was hand clasped and nods as each entered their quarters. During the evening those who were there talked, ate and drank together in the main room, like in the old days, only this time, there was a roof above their heads and stone all around them so they needn't to maintain their guard up too much. The 4 others leaders, Caltanar, Atavaryan, Meressúrie and Eresan all arrived together the last day. Arielle hugged them and they were granted a day of peace, to recover from their trip. The day after, the Coucil was announced and they all joined her in the biggest caves of the citadel, 12 males and 12 females, all Maiar, all united in one group. They sat in a circle, the Four, 2 on each of her sides. She told them everything, the whole truth so they could judge by themselves what it implied. Some shuddered at the thought of what would happen if their identities were revealed. They all agreed she had taken the right decision. Arielle felt the pressure on her shoulders ease, great relief relaxed her features. She smiled finally and dismissed all of them except for the leaders, she announced to them what she had planned.

Arielle - I have taken the decision to go to what is called Rekiger by you-know-who. It seems it is a neighboring land, but how far he is, I cannot tell. We shall go east and north, by the sea, it is said that we must cross the Red Mountains to go there. But we shall use discretion about our past.

Caltanar - You will need the Hunters of course ?

Eresan - She won't need all of us, only the us four. The others will remain to serve and protect the people.

Arielle let out a sigh, glad Eresan had, as always, understood her perfectly.

Eresan - I suppose you have already prepared all of the things we will need ?

Meressúrie *laughing* - You know she has ! Stop with the courting Eresan, you will have time on the boat.

Eresan blushed a little and smiled, just a second before the mask of impassibility fell over his face again.

Atavaryan - I will see to everything before we board the trade boat.

Caltanar - Do so, I'll make certain that some of us are guarding the borders of Saurondillion and that the others have tasks to ensure the people's protection. I don't know about you, but I appreciate this freedom.

Arielle - We all do, we all understand now what error we made.

Meressúrie - But Melkor could easily let Sauron invade.

Arielle - I know. That is why we must follow his orders. Be ready by dawn tomorrow, we better not waste any time. Eonwe gets closer and closer as it pasts by.

They seperated, each going in a different direction.

  9. This happens after Morgoth's encounter with Arielle, at almost the same time as the discussion between Eofenwe and the Blue Council and then recalls the events of the following year

Greatly troubled by the encounter, Arielle went back to the shore, leaving her wolf pack to one of her hunters, so he could take care of them. She boarded a small ship, and it lauched itself, in the direction of the South Island, where the Citadel of the Black Wolves stood. As the ship arrived, Arielle jumped over the railing quickly, using her agility to reduce the shock on her legs. She marched to the citadel, guards, men everywhere, bowing to her as she passed. She finally reached her quarters and settle there sitting on her bed, thinking about what had happened, what she should do now. One day, then two, then three, then a whole week past, she didn't come to any conclusion at all. Except for eating or sleeping, she didn't move at all, it was like a transe, so intense her own people didn't want to disturb her. The affairs of Queendom anyway, were very organised and the trade was well, so they let her think at ease. It took time, not 2 weeks, not a month but a whole year. The time to think of all the implications of her actions, for the Valar, the Maia, the whole population that awed her, the elves and other races too would be influence by her decision. It was a very hard decision to make, but once it was made, Arielle finally got out of her transe and stared in front of her with determination. She stood up and walk to the nearest servant she could find. It was time to act, she had to call upon her acolytes, the 24 of them. Messengers departed within the hour for the fortresses, the guard towers and the cities in which they had settled. The Hunters were re-made.
