    Harii Night-Ambusher

    Hey @wowgetoffyourcellphone, just a random_idea©

What about allowing to train like N number of Harii ambusher leader (name TBD) that function as mobile barracks to train Harii Ambushers? (in a limited number, let's say 20) II or III phase, regular mercenary or glass cannon mercenary champ. Basically to some gameplay differentiation to the other celts.

Another idea is to merge axes and clubman into one class (swordman stats). Different actor for the same unit.

I usually don't play as sparta, but:

    1) As I said in the balancing topic some time ago, maybe the translation of Ekdromos Skiritai, Skiritai Commando, should be renamed: commando reminds to some kind of modern special ops unit. I propose Skiritai runner. Sources 1, 2. The explanation of why Mythos gave that name is here.

Seems that the link are broken :(

Besides the name change, they served as light phalanx but also as runners and chasers. So probably they used spear as main weapon, as Wow have changed. Giving spears could be a little misleading from a POV gameplay, but on the other hand it gives cohesion to the civ spear identity and aesthetics (I'm not suggesting an stats change)

Nor were slingers their primary offensive units. I think playing with Celtic factions should intuitively make you focus on spearmen, swordsmen and cavalry, using slingers for defensive or harassing purposes. Ranged units in general should have limited effectiveness when attacking a unit with shield from the front, but more effective when hitting them from the side or back. This would encourage flanking maneuvers.

I'd vote to get rid of all these weird extreme civ bonuses, and replace them with more normal ones. Like with Ptolemies. Why would anybody get free houses? Just give them a nominal cost at least. Build times really don't count as a cost here, and increasing build time of mud-brick structures to compensate for them being free is the wrong way to go imo... Houses should rather be built more quickly, but also have much lower health. Mauryan elephants increasing efficiency of assigned builders makes sense, but elephants building an entire structure from its foundation without any human present really doesn't belong in a game like 0AD imo. Iberian starting walls are the main reason I barely ever play them. I think It's annoying and it's not like Iberians were so famous for their walls... Everybody built walls...

Rams can literally outrun infantry... And things like catapults, bolt shooters and scorpio's have an insane pierce armor (50?). Why? These aren't covered siege engines. Once infantry reaches them they should be as good as dead. And since they're not covered, they should be vulnerable to enemy ranged units as well.

Military camps are cool, but why can't Ptolemies and Seleucids build more CC's?

Well, I'm in favour for singular civs, but only if balanced.

About Britons, maybe they should replace the Iberians as the javelineer civ. The skirmisher Iberian stereotype is not real, it was more the Lusitanians that could fit it. But maybe it could be written somewhere that the Iberians represent all the peninsula tribes, including Celts and Celtiberians. Splitting them it's a bad choice where other civs could more interesting.

And the wall bonus is too extreme

This could just be a "campaign" for the core game, but there's no one on the team to make such a decision as far as we know.

EDIT: But really, all the game needs is ONE campaign and the code to support it. That will allow modders and players to make their own campaigns, which can become their own mod.io downloads. All the core team needs to do is decide which campaign they want to do.

I don't know if first there should be a better trigger support, more win and defeat conditions, and a way to adapt the AI to the scenarios

  5. A topic have started in the AoE forums about women in the videogames. This is a sensitive topic, because goes directly to your beliefs and triggers your deep emotions. The aim of this post is link and show this video if somebody finds it interesting, I really don't want to fight.

Sadly, it's in Spanish, although automatic translate could be used, it's usually very bad.

  6. BTW, there's some kind of aim or objective, like finishing some the pathfinding updates? There's been a lot of changes and maybe a release could help to chase bugs and unfigurated behaviors by a major playerbase than the dev build
