Hi 0ad Devs! About two years ago there was an attempt at converting 0ad's dynamic memory usage to a memory pool system. Eg ticket #2020 which is closed and marked wontfix. Did anything ever come of this, I know RedFox's mega patch had to be broken up, but as far as I can see little of his code made it into the main 0ad repo. Were there specific technical reasons why this approach was rejected?

It seems weird but, sometimes my settings about showing chat messages before you enter the lobby change into default 0. I don't know what happens to the pc, but it doesn't have relationship with restarting pc. I usally play 0 ad two times a week, so i don't know what happens. BTW, right now if you host and you go back to the main lobby screen, the chat is cleared. I think it would be nice to preserve the chat. Don't know/remember if it happens with joining a game and then going back. It doesn't happen after playing a match. cheers

it's something that works in stronghold because the game is designed around it, throwing in game mechanics like this which would have a massive impact will just make the game worse, unless the entire game is remade from the ground up.

I'm not sure whether food consumption is something that fits in 0 A.D. it's more something that should go in a simulator game (or mod) but I don't think it is a good thing to have in 0 A.D. (because it is not quite a simulator game.) It's good to have it technically possible of course...
