  1. Yeah, whatever video etc we decide to include we should definitely only bundle with the game. There are people who have bad internet connections, people who don't want to be connected to the internet etc. It's one thing to require an internet connection if we e.g. include an autoupdater or something, but not for any in-game content/functionality. (Apart from multiplayer over the internet of course, but that's another thing )

  2. Not at all local to me, but possibly relevant to our Mauryan faction: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/2500-year-old-city-discovered-in-Chhattisgarh/articleshow/18942752.cms

  3. Welcome to the forum. It should be fine with the replay system since it will just be the same as a normal player, so the commands should be stored in the replay. Saving could be more difficult, I think it would only be possible for the host to load the saved game, or perhaps other players could load the game and just have the AI play differently (like how saved games and AI work now). Regarding the database PostgreSQL sounds like a very large dependency if you have it local. SQLite sounds like a better option. Requiring a central server doesn't sound ideal, though having one available might be nice. Edit: With regards to the host cheating with local AI. I doubt anyone is going to play serious competitive games with AI so there is little incentive to cheat. I don't think this is worth much consideration.

  4. Okay, latest update fixes some of the remaining issues, makes it slightly more efficient, and adds difficulty support properly (in the GUI). It also changes the debug setting to false by default, and I changed the descriptions for Alpha 13. I have made Aegis default on RM. Please try the difficulty settings, easy should feel easy but not tooooo easy. Hard should be somewhat challenging to skilled players. Very hard should be challenging. Please report if it is too challenging, or not enough (I use a system of resource cheat: Easy AI gathers 33% more slowly, hard 33% faster, and very hard 66% faster.)

  5. But you'll need to spend the stone you have from the beginning if you want to construct a new civic center, and at least in most cases I'd say expansion is worth more than being able to build a barracks at that point.

  6. IMO, 1024p is enough for gameplay videos, but I'd rather have better quality for cinematics, since they are the game's "presentation" to the player. Cinematic videos most commonly abuse of graphical resources while the game doesn't get a glimpse of that, so there is freedom to do as much as you feel like doing, in terms of fanciful stuff. Starcraft 2's expansion's trailer (which reminds me of Matrix's invasion of Zion, btw)
