  2. This game is different than standard Age of Empires games. You need to adapt to the Citizen Soldier system. First thing to know: boom is King. Forget about champions. Forget about cavalry if you don't intend to rush or there's no hunt around. All you need are your Melee and ranged Citizen Soldiers. Spam them alongside your females and get them to work. Focus on food and wood before you reach 100 population. Then, advance to the Town phase and shift some of your male workers to stone and metal. You will need them to build your second Civic Center, your Temple and research all economy upgrades. By this time, you should have a minimum of two Barracks, but build one more still. Build a Forge for upgrades. The key here is to focus on three units. 1) Your melee tanks. This can be basic spearmen. 2) Ranged support. These are your killers at range. 3) Your utility unit of choice. This can be your melee cavalry on Defensive stance. You will use it only to rush into the enemy's ranged units, flank them or harass their workers. Anything else will just steal your focus and APM. Focus on macro and getting those upgrades, expand into the unoccupied areas before your enemy, and you will win. Getting siege is situational. Getting your Hero is a bonus. Getting healers is a waste. If you need to heal your troops, garrison them inside the Temple.
  3. Another idea that came to my mind after writing this post was to add a new button for unloading and selecting to the ship ui.
  4. It would be more practical to just select the destination and have it appear as you say. Basically merge steps 2 and 3.
  5. @Deicide4uOn some maps there is a limited number of places where it's possible to unload units and it's easy for the player to have them all protected. And even on safe ground it may be difficult to select all of your units so I think it's a nice QOL feature. @Classic-Burger1. You move your ship to the shore 2. You unload your units 3. The unloaded units are now selected

  7. It's not that difficult. I found a practical way to win easily. Regardless of your skill. You need to create an economic boom. Invest in villagers (in the new development versions, they're now both male and female)Invest in archers or skimishers, spam this unit, then invest in ranged cavalry, either cavalry skimishers or horse archers. Finally, good champion cavalry. Rams but this is even optional. Another requirement is to play small maps. I mean medium to small. Here is an example.

  11. Hi @bulbeni, welcome to the forums! The game is hard, especially online. There aren't many players in the lobby, and those who are there are all very good. Try making yourself comfortable by playing against the AI first. Eventually, join some MP games as a spectator once you decide that you are ready.
  12. I'm playin' this game for HOURS and didnt already understand whats going on accurately. I mean this game is CRAZILY HARD! I particularly meant online gameplay. Everyone on the online lobby has superpowers in this game, I think every of them played AT LEAST 1,000 hours. Let me explain: I join to a room, I wait for others then start the game and after 5 minutes I watch them having a 500 population with my 50 population looking directly to their sigma faces. I had inferiority complex in this game. I come home, open my computer, just want to play some games to float out then on 10th minute, I watch that somebody who had 5,000 population smearing my empire in a flash and my all wishes for this game just gets down. Then I take a look at the summary and see that my enemies had 3205214121 points at all and I only had 2320 points and then I cry for the whole day.

  14. I don't recognize the emblem in the center. Are you using any mods?
  15. I had this problem on Windows when I was using the Vulkan graphics. Try switching to OpenGL.
  16. I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else, but whenever I start playing, I see the messages shown in these screenshots, and the graphics look a bit strange. Does anyone know how to fix this issue, Please?
  17. I don't see the value in this. Find a safe landing spot for your army, or create one with your navy. Landing them in the middle of the enemy's base should be punishable.
  18. Hi paczek, welcome back to the forums! I understand your approach. Personally I like it more to have the ship selected after unloading units, because then I can reorder the ship to another place. Therefore I'd suggest implementing a new option in the settings where players can decide whether they like the auto-selection of unloaded units or ongoing selection of the ship. Another question is, which setting should be the default one. If an implementation into the main game becomes possible, the Gameplay Discussion forum would be the right place for a request for comments. As far as I understand the development of 0 A.D., this would qualify for a pull request. Best wishes, obelix

  21. +300 food. And stands at a popularity of 8%. So thats 600 res. So 300 seconds while trickling + 60 for research. That's 6 minutes until you start to profit from it. You delay yourself 6 minutes. 1. Its bad for itself. 2. If something is somewhat decent, you need to include it to your game play. This takes up head space. You would neglect other stuff. This is a bit the problem of healers. They are ok and contribute a bit. But you have another thing to worry about. Sometimes you are better of with going a more simple approach (until your 1800+ and decide again). But again this is not even the case for this tech. 3. If you have will to fight and all other normal upgrades, full pop and are floating res, go for it.
