Black Op
Yet another thing I found out through the DGDN Forums. Here's the original post quoted:The following is an actual question given on a University ofWashington chemistry mid term. The answer by one student was "soprofound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via theInternet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure ofenjoying it as wellBonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic(absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle"s Law,(gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) orsome variant. One student, however, wrote the following:First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. Sowe need to know the rate that souls are moving Into Hell and the ratethey are leaving. I think that we can safety assume that once a soulgets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the differentreligions that exist in the world today. Some of these religionsstate that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go toHell. Since there are more than one of these religions and sincepeople do not belong to more than one religion, we can project thatall souls go to Hell. With birth and-death rates as they are, we can expect the number ofsouls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate ofchange of the volume in Hell because Boyle's law states that in orderfor the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volumeof Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:1. If Hell is expanding at a rate slower than the rate at which soulsenter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increaseuntil all Hell breaks loose.2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of soulsin Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hellfreezes over.So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by TeresaMorrison during my freshman year, ". that it will be a cold day inHell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that Istill have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then #2cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and willnot freeze. The student received the only "A" given.Funny or what? JasonRabenold
Hey that stuff works. My room mate did that to one of his Engineering Exams answered only 2 questions out of 10 and for the rest wrote down funny stuff. The professors gave him a C which is good most people dont my C's on the exams.
