Installing Development Version - Ubuntu

Hi, I was trying to install the dev version according to the info in the website (add ppa 0ad.dev) but the packages there seem to be the same as the current release of the game. Can anyone help me? What is the easiest way to install the dev version on Ubuntu?

using either svn, or the git mirror on htpps://github.com/0ad/0ad, Not that you have to compile the game yourself.

@stanislas69 Thanks! If I compile it, will it affect my default installation of the game, or can I ran it from the folder where it is compiled?

It shouldn't but depending on what you touch it might have an influence. For instance, both will share the same user.cfg unless you run the dev version with -writableRoot (Notice it only has one '-') this flag makes the game portable. https://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/ps/trunk/binaries/system/readme.txt line 68

Sure just go in wherever you cloned it and run ./pyrogenesis -writableRoot
