WhiteTreePaladin
I recreated some well-known figures from the Lord of the Rings series by using only actor files to recombine existing models and textures. Just thought I'd post for fun. Here's some screenshots:

WhiteTreePaladin
I wasn't planning on making them all, but just a few. Feel free to post units though. I'd never complain about that.

WhiteTreePaladin
Ah, someone fixed the title already. Thanks whoever it was. That Radagast is pretty good. You version goes beyond just actor changes though. It's more along the lines of those nice Helm's Deep walls someone made recently. Would be nice to make an "unofficial" LOTR mod sometime. sanderd17
I thought we discontinued the LOTR mod because of copyright issues...
WhiteTreePaladin
We discontinued the "Official" Last Alliance game/mod because we felt it wouldn't be wise for us to make one as an organization. There are LOTR mods all over the internet. I don't think it would be too big of an issue for a community mod. It could cause issues if it got too large and attracted a lot of attention, but I don't think that is likely. Worst case scenario, is to change all the iconic figures and structures to not look exactly like the movies and give everything generic names. Even that would be fun to play though and individual map makers could always add the names back in. Radagast.
Creating an elven and dwarf mod can't be a problem if we stick to generic names (derived from Tolkien's works on Elvish + Dwarvish).Just consider all those LoTR-like books out there which seem not to have copyright issues at all. Nothing must look like in the movies and we're fine. Though finding non-cinema references for Tolkien's world is quite difficult nowadays that the movies have been created and spread far.Anyway great to see these characters. Didn't expect even the nine lost human kings to be doable with existing actors only. Awesome. Edited August 16, 2014 by Radagast.
WhiteTreePaladin
Well, I did have to make new actors. However, I only used existing models and textures. If we were going to make a real mod, we'd need proper textures as the stretching is pretty bad in my screenshots. Gandalf's hat was fun. It's a pointy helmet on top of a straw hat.
