Idea for the game!

Mongol civilization:

Infantry: Medium
Archers: Strong
Cavalry: Very strong (Similar to the Persians)
Technology (cars for war, catapults): No
Naval Force: Medium (Similar to the Mauryas)
Construction: Weak (Similar to the Gauls)
Exceptions:. Use of birds for hunting and combat (Similar to the dogs of the Gauls)

Ghengis Khan and the Mongols of his time are well out of the time frame of the first version of 0 A.D. (500 B.C. to 1 B.C.), so they will not be included. There are however mods which feature the relevant time period, maybe you can join them to add this faction.

Let's see, Ghengis Khan was born in the 12th century. How would you combine that with the timespan feneur mentioned?

Yes, the Mongols met the Byzantines, but it was Attila with his Huns who fought with the Romans. But even Attila falls beyond the timespan.

The mongols are already planned for the medieval epoch (Millennium Part II) as feneur said.

Unfortunately the mongols + turk tribes extinguished the last Roman remnants in 1452 because of the Hungarian Caesar taking command from John Hyunyadi, when victory was almost certain (I think I told this story already).

The mongols will be excellent for campaigns (e.g. the 2000 ships they sent to conquer Japan - their third trial to do so! - though a storm didn't let the ships fulfill their purpose).

Feel free to throw in every bit of information you can find.

Genghis Khan was the most famous one, but his grandson had finally almost conquered the whole world. (they didn't know there were continents like Australia + America or at least they did focus so much on Eurasia that they thought after Europe + Japan + India they had conquered it all.)

As for the Mongols having no technology, weak construction - that's how they started out, but they adopted tech from the conquered peoples as they went along. After they conquered China the became the most technologically advanced army in the world. Their cavalry archers remained the backbone of their army, but they attacked cities with powerful siege engines and even crude cannon (Chinese inventions, of course - but the Mongols are said to have improved them).

Gengis Khan went from being a nomad living in a tent to having an entire city constructed just to house their loot.
