SDM
Yes, the references are for potential volunteers who want to try their hands on modeling something basic and not game-critical.
oshron
Hmm the problem with mini faction is not a official planned featured. But Michael and many others like the idea but, is possibly for second part. Is a lot of work.like i said, the basis could be civs that are technically represented already as mercenaries used by a given civilization (like the Thracians)
Lion.Kanzen
Yeah, the problem is this featured is no " writing in stone" is not official gameplay yet, I think, and is a feature for after release. I'm worry for the time, and even if is forget or changes in gameplay or other things that happens.
SDM
Oshron is talking about something else separate from a wholly independent mini-faction. See Ptolemies's foreign troops for example.Separate from that, even if the mini-faction idea fails to be adopted, if anyone models and converts the Bantu culture in-game, they can be placed in Atlas
Lion.Kanzen
So mini faction is like a unplayable faction of total war? Is important don't mix the concept and give his own conceptCulture is Civ= Hellenes.Faction = Sparta.Mini faction= ThessalianGaia local tribe - mercenaries = Thessalian mercenaries. SDM
I just found a link that seems to be authentic that has information about not only the Bantu people but also the Khoi-San peoples. I think it's extremely easy to add the San people in-game given what we know and the references in the site. From the page, we can infer what their houses look like, their bows, clothing, and way of life back in the day. We also know that they are 1.5 m tall in average, which should still be shorter than the average people of the time. I want to find a picture of their clubs though. Here are the Khoisan:http://www.south-africa-tours-and-travel.com/san-people.html#THE%20KHOISANhttp://www.krugerpark.co.za/africa_bushmen.htmlAnd the Bantu (weapons are still not found)http://www.south-africa-tours-and-travel.com/bantu.html
SDM
So mini faction is like a unplayable faction of total war? Is important don't mix the concept and give his own conceptCulture is Civ= Hellenes.Faction = Sparta.Mini faction= ThessalianGaia local tribe - mercenaries = Thessalian mercenaries. What's basically been said is that foreign mercenaries are essentially a mini-faction if you can create it independently and add a few structures here and there. There hasn't been talks about the implementation as far as I know from him.And I think we can discuss implementation elsewhere. This should be about focusing on African peoples and research on cultures. Edited October 16, 2013 by SDM
