Mythos_Ruler
I think it's perfectly fine to take design cues from other barracks. I really like how it looks now, though it may be too tall. Perhaps scale down the roof a bit?
Ludo38
Wow, that reshape was a very good idea. And this time I like the two in the center, no just the one I approved before. I'm thinking that maybe the entrance in semi-circle looks a bit like a "Circus" entrance , so, maybe the "grid" entrance works better for barracks, and by the way I like the idea of the walls having the same shape as the fortification walls. So, I'm ok for the one in the middle.

Mythos_Ruler
haha I know right? just experimentingLeft one is almost perfect. Try mapping that one! Though, perhaps a lower roof would be best?
Ludo38
LordGood, you wanted barracks that look strong, I think you got them !There's something in this building shape that looks like a huge elephant head ! Somehow, that's perfect Just a question : that 4 point star, did you see it in a reference picture ? It looks a bit communist ! I agree with Mythos about the roof. Mythos_Ruler
The 4-point window comes from a lot of reference images.
Ludo38
He got it from this image.Aahhh, ok, thanks! But then I suggest adding just 4 polygons to that shape so that it feels more like the curved version in the reference rather than a star. Even if it's a small detail, I think it will make a difference. Just 4 polygons away!

Mythos_Ruler
Yeah, go ahead and map those. Maybe we can have two barracks variations.

Mythos_Ruler
Is LordGood speeding up the process of induction a bit?Just need to see if his buildings import into the game correctly.
LordGood
Just need to see if his buildings import into the game correctly. I've imported Sketchup .dae files into Blenderit exports fine for the most part, but sometimes it's all jumbled up. A little shake in the program will reset the positions into the right spots

Josh
got a goofy little broken texture on that second barracks but that probably wont show outside of the rendererLooks good! There was only one thing I noticed, on the first barracks the block texture doesn't line up with the stepping of the battlements.
Enrique
lovely progress. Both variations look awesomeDon't know how it's done in sketchup, but the UV mapping in the roof texture has a seam for each face. We have to get rid of those seams. Also, have you considered texturing as wood or other color at least one of the two segments under the roofs? Roof texture is very predominant IMO
LordGood
Whenever the texture seams I have to fix it manually :/and my mouse is broken. excellentthat might slow me down, slamming the left click every time I need it is hurting my finger ahaha
