Lydia, a kingdom from western Asia Minor, it had died out by 546BC so slightly out of the 500BC-0AD time frame...

It was the naem of the Persian satrapy there and in the Roman Empire, it became a province that was once part of Asia. It is thought they invented coins.

It continued to exist as part of the Eastern Roman Empire until it fell to the Turks.

Also Lud, mythical king of Britain after whom London is supposed to be named, supposed father of first British individual known to history, Cassivellaunus, the person after which Ludgate is named, meant to son of Heli, another mythical king. Reigned around 75BC to 25BC
