Can’t progress past economy walkthrough

Hello,

I’ve only just started playing this game, and doing the initial campaign. I have completed the Economy Walkthrough Scenario twice now, got to the end where it says the walkthrough is over and to press quit, and yet it won’t mark the walkthrough’s status as complete and I’m unable to unlock any further scenarios? How do I get past this? Please help me.

The answer depends on what exactly you mean.

If you are referring to scenario maps (games in a predefined historical setting but without a storyline), then: Yes, the game has many different ones to offer. You can select them in the map section when starting a new game.

If you are instead referring to full, story-driven campaigns, then: I'm sorry for having to disappoint you here. The base game unfortunately comes with none.

@SciGuy42 (https://github.com/SciGuy42/) has made several ones, I personally haven't played them, but they're said to be pretty good. You can find installation guides in the designated threads on the forum. However, they haven't been updated to the latest version of the game yet, so you likely won't be able to play them on A27.

However: adding more singleplayer content is a big goal in the game's development and I'm excited to be able to say that we are indeed actively working on a new, four-game-long, narrative tutorial campaign. You can follow the progress here:

I can't promise anything, but I hope we can include it in the next release (that'll be version 28 - which in all likelihood won't by far take as long as A27).

Hello Vantha,
Hello Player of 0AD,

thank you for your answers! I think I got the point.

In the 27 version, there is a tutorial campaign that includes the introductory tutorial and the economy walkthrough.

Additionally, there is the demo campaign, which covers various scenarios.

Sorry for the dumb question. Is the game about playing different maps and various scenarios against the AI in single-player mode? And/or playing against other humans in multiplayer mode?

I’m looking forward to the story driven single-player campaign in the 28 version. Thanks to everyone!

The game has both, and it is up to you how you want to play it. Age of Empires games are well-known for both their multiplayer and single-player modes.

Ah, and the economy walkthrough's status doesn't update after completing it? I honestly don't know if and how campaigns are currently supposed to end, but that actually sounds like a bug.
