Gurken Khan Posted Sunday at 11:06 Report Share Posted Sunday at 11:06 I don't think there currently is a way to select units by rank, but I really wish there was. When I'm advancing to a building I want to capture and there's limited opposition I want my elite units to capture and feed XP to the rest. Selecting each type of unit and then triple-click on the elites is quite tedious, especially when it's several buildings. I guess I could work with units being part of two control groups, does any mod provide that?
Lion.Kanzen Posted Monday at 01:54 Report Share Posted Monday at 01:54 If I see it correctly, sometimes the difference between ranges is not even noticeable except for the maximum range but it is not much. What I would like is for the formations to be ordered by rank from basic to elite.

Elites had all kinds of perks, moving faster, doing more damage, greater LoS... I don't know if there's more than better capture rate and more HP now; anyway, I want to feed the XP to the lower ranks.

Yes you can do it with autociv. Add this to your user.cfg to create a hotkey selecting only elite rank units as an example: hotkey.autociv.session.entity.by.rank.3 = "[Your hotkey]" Â

They should also improve those capture attributes. I almost always use CS as cannon fodder. Those that are based their value in food and wood. Gurken Khan Posted Monday at 03:13 Author Report Share Posted Monday at 03:13 I never liked to use cannon fodder. My main goal is zero losses.

Mine only with units that cost metal or stone. The volume of 0 AD units is larger and it is also easy to lose units. Although I protect them, in large surprise attacks many end up dead. I don't like losing units, but it's hard to keep them alive. Especially under attack or when they get out of control. That's why I think there is a lack of mechanisms to better control the units. Battalions are useful but sometimes they get scattered and there is no hotkey for the behavior.
