Belisarivs
1) Ooops, I didn't count with it. I'm from Czech Republic.2) I appreciate your willingness to help. But if you can't do it from stated resons, than I don't know how could you help.Perhaps history research could fit you well. Simply choose some nation and find some info about its history and especially military in these times.I'm not sure if Tathar mentioned time period in his mod, but if it will be sequel to my mod I guess, that it will start at the end of 15th century and end in 18th century or so. Belisarivs
BTW, I've found this and this. Perhaps you could contact Cegorah (but he is very busy now as he mentioned). Edited September 13, 2006 by Belisarivs
cegorach
If you need any help with :Poland, Russia, Iroquis, Aztecs, Inca, Mapuche (if these are here) or generally ANYTHING from the XVIth and XVIIth century I have enough knowledge to assist this mod with necessary information.I am largerly responsible for Pike and Musket mod for TW series and I have most of reseacrch already done.BTW Poland was indirectly a colonial power for a couple of years - its vasal state Courland had Tobago untill it was taken by the Dutch in 1660s.Regards Cegorach
Belisarivs
I guess, that this mod has timeframe which will fit you best.I think, that it takes part in same time as your PMTW mod.So you are free to post anything relating your mod, I think. Abadu
Well,i was planing them, but to diferent units,we would have to use other germanic nations(poland, austria, swiz) units, but all the civs here had a colony in the "new world",while prussians dont had any,but i could research some prussian units... Abadu
Well,i realy dont like the 3 units with tomahawk in name, its best only the exeman have tomahawk in name. The ideas are very good, but looks like b]to much with AOE IIIOther units for the natives:Inca shaman(inti priest)Inca chiefIroquois chief(the other is best for the rifleman)Aztec chiefAztec priestMayan shamanMayan chief
FirePowa8
Those names aren't definite, just descriptions of the soldier.I disagree that the chief should be a rifleman. Iroquois chiefs had capes over their right shoulders, like the one in the picture I posted. The sprite you posted just looks like a regular Great Lakes soldier to me, not even necessarily Iroquois. The Inca also did not have horizontal feather headdresses like the ones pictured in those sprites, they actually had front-to back ones or none at all, if I remember right. Abadu
Well, the problem is that the rifleman looks like too much with the tomahawk. The sprite is from american conquest,i dont think its good enough to be the iroquois chief,it was only a sugestion.About the inca sprites,we dont need to use this for the chief, but the priest is very good, dont you think? But now, more pictures:inca noble poleaxemanaztec eagle warriorlink-Siouxarcherspearmanbuffalo soldier(atack with bow and spear)sioux brave(atack with rifle and axe)pikemanwolf scoutcheyene dog soldierLight spear cavalryArcher raiderFeather heavy lancers(ok,its a dumb name) repearting riflemanchiefBuffalo soldierSpearman(very good in my opinion)Lakota mounted axe-Seminolemounted riflemanmusketeerarcherrifleman-HopiSpearmanSnake priestArchershooterchief-InuitArcherHarpoonerSpearmanDog sledUmiakKayak-HawaiiansKoa swordsman(the one with the "sword")Koa macemanHuna-lewa skirmishPapa kaua pikemanKamehameha's canonnerPolynesian canoebuildings(this picture is just wonderfull)-HaidaArcherClubmanChiefgo thought the pagesCanoeWoodsman(a dumb created name)Shaman clothesI think that i finish the N. FirePowa8
In the game, I'm sure there will be effective ways to make the units look unique, such as body paint. It's certainly working in AOE3: WarChiefs, I'm sure they can appear distinguished in-game.Impressive display of natives there, especially the Inuit and Hawaiians. cegorach
Really good work !I am still researching about some armies and nations and some of those images are incredibly useful. Anyway - just curious - how many units per faction is the limit ?BTW Anyone here knows at least a little Iroquis language or at least terms they used to decribe warriors, scouts etc. I will not bother you with details unless someone can help me.Anyone has any images/more data about Mapuche ( south part of South America -i.e. Chile, Argentina) armies after 1555 - they adopted european tactics (pikemen, cavalry, musketeers) and actually were subdued only after 1850 if I am correct or even later. Finally are there any online source about Hawaii warfare I really am curious about them now. Belisarivs
Anyway - just curious - how many units per faction is the limit ?AFAIK it has none limits this way. Actually, I think, that it won't be like Total War, but rather like Age of Kings. So having too much unit types will be useless as player will tend to use just few of them. FirePowa8
I would suggest "Mabobo Clubman" over "Ironwood Clubman", since the mabobo(sp?) is the name of the club that the South American tribes wielded. Don't know why Ensemble gave them the other name.I didn't know much about Tupi armies, but they look really cool. Other American Indian civ ideas not yet covered:- Apache- Crow- Cherokee- Klamath- Cree- Aymara- Taino- Huron- Algonquin- PawneeIn my opinion it should be balanced between the two continents. I think one or two Mesoamerican (technically north American) civs is okay, Maya and Aztec one would assume.Desired North American civs:- Iroquois- Cherokee- Crow- Sioux- ApacheSouth American civs:- Inca- Mapuche- Taino- Tupi- AymaraI know that is 12 civs all and all. That's the problem, narrowing them down...
