  1. im starting to change my mind, some people have given pretty good reasons why having smaller scale ships would be more funcional in a game like this...i wouldnt like to just have 10 ships for my fleet, i want 40 !
  2. wind and water eroded rocks, fields of tall grass, shorline sands, gravels, frozen water, icebergs, different flower patches and vegtable patches(which you could harvest)
  3. i never really liked that "better in your own country" thing, too complicated and constricting
  4. i didnt mean expanding borders with towers and basic military buildings, but with forts and citidels....maybe i should have made that clearer before
  5. i just made a post and i noticed that my currency went down, and underneith i have this "warnings<0( )3>" thing. What does this mean?
  6. All those ideas are great mythos (maybe change the names of the different modes though:)) fall of roman empire... sounds very interesting imo. you could also make it fairer for rome if 2 players can play the same team. Or would this "fall of roman empire mode" have a time limit of somthing like 40 mins(or a few seasons), where if you dont conquer rome in the time limit, rome wins?
  7. All those ideas are great mythos (maybe change the names of the different modes though:)) fall of roman empire... sounds very interesting imo. Would a AI be playing rome or can a human player be rome too?
  8. ah yes, i was thinking about this yesterday maybe loading ships with conscripts or slaves(if in the game) can give battle ships the "power" of ramming speed
  9. you wouldnt be able to get them back unless he tributes them back to you...
  10. actually when i thinkg about it, having the ships, 1/2 to 1/3 the atual size would better, and more functional heres how big the ships should look like imo(dont take notice of the buildings, unless you like the view): the picture
  11. the only way that i think that borders should be expanded is through building military buildings to protect borders, that would seriously count for some great sieges.
  12. i think it would work...but only with ships that have oars the wind on the other hand would be hard, because you would have to have randomly generated wind directions with some sort of diagram showing which direction its going and that, i think would be hard to do
  13. if you watch the one of the very first AoM videos on gamespot with someone talking about AoM(early-mid 2001), he very briefly mentions AoE3
  14. since you are talking about currency in conjunction with the beta test, what is currency(besides a bribe to get into the beta:P) and why does it say "donate" next to the currency?
  15. yeah, but they wouldnt be launched out of nowhere, they'd be lauched from the garrisoned catapult(catapult animation and everything).
  16. there should be a "search and destroy" scout button for those multiplayer games for when theres 5 units left hiding out in a corner of a map which you have to kill
  17. it would be way easier to discuss this topic with pictures:)
  18. man you replied fast (i edited my post a little, changed my mind) theres only one game that ive seen the health bar change colour when they get hurt, thaat game was RoN i prefer it like AoK where the green bar just gets replaced with red when units get hurt
  19. colours are still needed imo, they just have to be shown in the right way, like instead of having obvious colour bands on the buildings you could have flags on the buildings with the colour on them, or have less obvious coloured things, like a painted cart or pottery next to the building but i dont think "no colour" would work well with units, you just have to put the colour in the appropriate places. AoK and AoM are perfect examples of this. the colours were all put in the right places which made them easily recognisable, and didnt spoil the art of the units with too much blue for example.
  20. Id rather this happen: lets say you put a catapult on a ship, the ship will be able to use the catapult as an attack, if you put infantry units on a ship, that will give you the power to board enemy ships and sieze them(infantry wont damage the ship though but will kill the enemies crew)and if you put archers on the ship, youll be able to shoot out dozens of flaming arrows at units on an enemy ship's units and the ships sails, making the sails fall apart and slowing them down. the ship doesnt have to be perfectly to scale, all the units dont have to be on the top decks... ships without garrisoned units will have their own attack to use, but they'd be better off with garrisoned units.
  21. if i had a scanner i would try to join as a concept artist.
